Hello, I’m Amelia and during the day I work for local government as a chartered town planner. With a fair bit of spare time on my hands, particularly in the evenings and at weekends and as I’m a bit cat mad, I figured cat sitting would be a perfect side hustle! Turns out, I think I enjoy cat sitting more than my day job! A bit more about me:- I grew up with cats and there has never been a time in my life where I haven’t had a cat. I still look after my parent’s 4x ginger cats when they go away which is quite often now they’ve retired. I have also looked after a handful of cats within the last couple of months via Cat in the Flat / Rover which I have absolutely loved! As I do work full time, I only look after a few cats at anyone time so I can give them the full attention they deserve when you’re away. I have three cats of my own: Wolfie, Ivy and Mr B who are pictured in my gallery along with the blue mitted ragdoll, Milo, who I had since I was 19 and sadly passed almost 2 years from a tumour. Couldn’t not give him a mention! They are the loves of my life! In addition to the above and although quite a few years ago now, I spent three years or so working in a cattery (Colinton Country Cattery) during my years at university. This was probably one of my favourite jobs as a student - I got to cuddle and play with loads of cats with varying personalities and needs whilst also doing a bit of cleaning. I also met a few cats who missed their parents terribly and were quite unsettled, but it was very rewarding to eventually earn their trust and forge bonds with them. I can work during public holidays such as Christmas or Easter. I also have a full clean driving license. One day (when I can afford it), I hope to open my own cattery!
