Pet care experience

Experienced & Flexible Schedule

I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 11—starting with our beloved family cavapoo, Bailey (AKA the glue that holds us together) who is now an incredible 14 years old and still going strong! I’ve learned first-hand how to look after senior dogs, including administering medication and making sure they’re comfortable and calm. My parents also now have Raffa, a 4-year-old cavapoo with separation anxiety, so I know how to provide reassurance and routine for dogs who need a little extra emotional care. I recently moved to Brighton from London where I regularly looked after a gorgeous vizsla, Oakley. This gave me regular hands-on experience with a larger, high-energy breed. Beyond family pets, I’m the go-to dog sitter for friends, neighbours, and even people I met while travelling in a van around the UK with my boyfriend Sam who I now live with—we joined House Sitters UK and looked after several dogs and cats across the country. I’m confident with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, and I tailor my care to suit each pet’s individual needs.

Highly recommend Amelia! She watched our dogs, Darby and Harper, while we were at an event in Brighton and did an amazing job. She was professional, attentive, and sent updates. We will definitely book her again if back to Brighton on any other event.

Amelia was a great sitter. She looked after our 11 month old cockapoo and he had the best time. We received lots of photos and he came back happy and tired from all the fun.

Amelia is not only a last minute booking lifesaver but Barneys favourite dog sitter. I know this from the pictures I get sent and that fact he’s sad for. A Day after I collect him. It’s quite possible he prefers Amelia to me! What more could you ask for? :D

Amelia was an amazing sitter, her flat was a great environment for a dog to stay and he was very well looked after. Communication was good and drop-off and pick-up were very smooth. She followed all instructions for care and feeding and Tinto came back home very happy! We would recommend Amelia to anyone, thanks for the weekend!

Amelia is a star sitter! She has looked after Audrey a few times now, either for walks around the park, day care or overnight stays. Audrey is a happy puppy, when she's back home she's a calm dog, which means she had a nice, mentally and physically stimulating day. I highly recommend Amelia as a sitter! (Even though I'd want her to look after Audrey all the time hehe)

Couldn't recommend Amelia more! Blue had the best time with her and was super relaxed and happy when we got back. We loved Amelia's regular updates and the obvious care she took of Blue. We were slightly nervous as Blue is still a pillh but Amelia handled it all super well!

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a cosy basement flat in Brighton with a fully enclosed, secure walled garden—perfect for safe outdoor time. I treat every animal like they’re my own: with kindness, patience, and respect for their routines. I'm experienced with senior dogs, dogs on medication, and those who struggle with anxiety, and I create a calm, structured environment that helps them feel safe and loved.

A typical day

I work remotely with a flexible schedule, which means your dog’s needs come first. A typical day in my care includes plenty of outdoor time—if your dog is up for it, I love long walks in the South Downs or a good run around a local park. We’ll mix in fun, stimulating activities like playtime, enrichment games, or gentle training practice (depending on their age and energy levels). Of course, downtime is just as important. After a busy morning or walk, I make sure there’s plenty of time to relax and recharge—your pup can curl up beside me while I work or a cosy snooze on the sofa. I create a calm, reassuring environment to help them feel settled and at home throughout the day.
