Conveniently located 1/2 mile off US 20! I (Amelia) have taken care of my own dogs since I was seven and consider it a privilege and an honor to care for your pets when you need to be away. As a huge animal lover, I have a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and have previously worked at a kennel bathing and grooming dogs and at a veterinarian as a technician/assistant. I also have some experience with dog training and have trained my own dog from being an unruly rescue to a well-behaved house dog. I am willing to care for whatever pets a client has and love to learn new things and expand my knowledge of pet care. I am always learning more about dog training and pet care and will bring that knowledge into my care for your pets.

We were really worried about leaving our dogs because it was the first time they were away from us. Right from the start we were blown away with Amelia and the way she was during our meet and greet. As dogs owners we look at them as one of ours kids and she feels the same. Words can’t describe how great she did with them. I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful and caring dog sitter. We will definitely hire her again!!!!

Another great stay at Amelia's! Moose didn't even notice me leaving. 😂 Thank goodness he was glad to see me at pick-up.👍🏼😄 Moose is already looking forward to his return!
Amelia was amazing with our dog she took very good care of him. She gave us updates and pictures during the day. She is very flexible with our drop-off and pick-up times. We will definitely use them again when we're in the area.

As a professional, I carry additional insurance for your protection. When boarding dogs at my house, I have a large yard with a smaller section of it that is fenced. Dogs will always be under direct supervision when outside in the fenced area. I use baby gates and closed doors to create safe spaces for all the human and furry members of our family and to prevent any escapees. I will treat your dog like a member of my own family with lots of playtime, snuggles, and walks. When you have to leave town, you can rest easy knowing that your pets are in capable, loving, and experienced hands!

I am willing to work with all breeds of dogs. The safety of my household and my own pets is of utmost importance, so I am unable to care for dogs with a known history of aggression. All dogs in my care must be up to date on legally required vaccinations. I need to know about your pet's regular schedule and any behavior and any health issues or concerns.
A typical day
I am an active person that enjoys running and I am willing and able to take dogs on long walks/runs for exercise. I live very near the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail and frequently utilize this beautiful setting for exercise. I also have a small fenced area of my yard, just perfect for games of fetch or tug of war.

Availability
I work at home and homeschool my children so I am home a majority of the day and someone is almost always home in our household. I strive to keep all pets in my care on their regular schedule as much as possible and provide regular potty, exercise, playtime, and rest!
