Loving, Thorough Care for Your Pet
✨️🐶 Please continue to read my profile (including availability and pricing sections) before requesting a meet & greet I have always loved and cared about the welfare of animals ever since I can remember, and even had several different pets of my own growing up that I cared for, including a couple of dogs (one of which lived to be 17 years old!). I have past experience with volunteering at organisations such as the SPCA (providing care for cats, dogs, and rabbits) and caring for cats at AniMall Cat Clinic. I have helped several close ones and neighbours thoroughout the years with pet care needs for their dogs and cats, which included: feeding, walking, providing transportation to veterinary appointments, and spending quality time with the pets, just giving them affection or playing games such as fetch/tug of war. I have experience with caring for breeds that are reactive to other dogs (but still love the company of humans), and with breeds that are often subject to housing or insurance restrictions, some of which have included: Pit Bulls, German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, Huskies, Dobermans, and American Bullies. I focus on understanding each dog's individual temperament, communication style, and needs. I am also experienced in administering medication to both dogs and cats in oral, injectable, and topical forms.

I will listen to/observe your pet's body language and demeanour before approaching, and will always interact with them gently and kindly. On walks and out in the yard, I always use a leash or harness to keep the pet safe. Furthermore, I always strive to keep an eye out for any potential hazards to pets while they are in my care, whether that is something that spilled on the floor, or an unfamiliar object in the yard, and will always act swiftly to remove the hazard so your pet will be out of harm's way. I believe good pet care includes planning for the unexpected, so I like to establish emergency contacts, veterinary/animal hospital information, and contingency plans with every client before a stay (and preferably have these included in written directions too).

Amber is awesome! She was able to get our pup, who has really bad separation anxiety, to eat while we were gone! That's a first! Took great care of our psychotic cat too 😁

Amber did a wonderful job taking care of my anxious dog! She sent me regular updates, was easy to communicate with, and made sure my pup had what she needed.
Amber was an excellent caregiver to our pups. She was extremely detailed with her updates and followed through on our many to-do’s (as one of our dogs is on several medications). She is very trustworthy and competent. I felt very comfortable with her staying in our home - plus she was flexible during an unexpected power outage. Definitely would recommend!

🐾 I require a meet and greet with all new/first time clients before officially booking a house sitting. Please know that a stay is considered confirmed only after the meet and greet is completed, the booking has been mutually agreed upon, and has been officially booked through Rover. For longer stays (especially longer than 1 week), I would recommend you to reach out once you've fully decided that in-home care through Rover is the option you'd like to pursue. 🐾 Please also note that I do work M-F full time, excluding major holidays. For house sits that fall on weekdays, my standard on days that I am working onsite is to provide care mornings before work, evenings after work, and of course, stay overnight in the home. On the days that I am required to be onsite (which I communicate with pet parents), my ability to provide midday breaks is limited, and only available if my schedule and commute allow. For walks and drop ins in particular, I would be a great choice for pet parents that need care in evenings, nights, and weekends.

- Please let me know in advance if your pet has any behavioural concerns, separation anxiety, medical needs, or other conditions that I would need to be aware of to ensure my wellbeing and theirs. Unfortunately, I am not able to accept any pet with a history of biting or unprovoked attacking of people or other animals. A COUPLE OF THINGS TO NOTE: 🐱1. If you ever have any questions or concerns during a booking (whether with my communication style/frequency, my approach to care, etc) , please approach me proactively while the stay is active or shortly after it is complete. I would rather work with clients to constructively address any concerns and adjust as needed in real-time, rather than have any issues or objections brought to my attention only after the booking has long ended or indirectly through a review. 🐱 2. My services and rates are for pet care and related tasks only. If you have other needs while away (such as plant care or watering, non-pet related cleaning or household tasks, maintenance requests, etc), you will need to utilise a separate provider for those services, as they will not be done.
