I find crates work great for those who have not become extremely social yet. The safety of their “room” seems to relax them as they warm up to new surroundings.

Information Amber G. would like to know about your pet

We used to just keep dogs for friends and family here and there. It wasn't until we were looking for a sitter of our own that we stumbled upon this site and thought we should offer our home as well. My youngest son is so involved with school activities, it has been hard for him to get a part-time job, so this is a family adventure that allows him to be responsible and earn some money for gas, fun and college.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We like to go on walks around our neighborhood since it makes a complete circle and has little traffic. Your dog's sleeping arrangement This is strictly up to your pet and/or your rules. If they are like to cuddle, they can sleep with me, if not, a pet bed or crate fine. Time I'll spend with your dog Other than household activities or working in my office, they will have my full attention.

Doggy slumber party!

Pet care experience

We started hosting dogs as a family when we ourselves needed to board our pets but we’re uncomfortable with the idea of leaving them in a kennel. We found Rover and decided to open our home as well so others could enjoy the same quality of care, love and companionship we did. Since then, we all relocated to different areas so I took a break. Now that I am settled in Pittsburg full time, I figured there may be a need here as well. The separation alone can be hard on our babies so having a reliable and trustworthy person to look after your pet is of utmost importance. I have a small rescue dog named Roxy who is very social and has lots of "friends". She was found eating from a dumpster and is now a lil fatty with a wonderful spirit and the cutest personality. I have kept many dogs over the years (large and small breeds) and feel it’s more like a slumber party than a job. If this is your first time, don't worry, we can always do a meet and greet before the stay. I find it becomes more like a play date than a scary situation to both the owner and the pet. Even for the more timid dogs, I make the situation comfortable. With constant love and attention, I think this is a great safe place to leave your babies. If you have any questions, please let us know. Why I love dog sitting I actually didn't start enjoying dogs until I got one of my own. It was by default. My friend is a rescuer so I volunteered to help while she was working for a few days. The pup attached itself to me. Since then I have become so attached to animals that we ended up having two dogs and work at the shelter on the weekends. My oldest son has always had a passion for dogs and plans to be a vet so this experience is so beneficial to him and his future. We just love having them and giving them a safe, loving place to visit and play. Meet my pets We have two spayed/neutered rescue dogs, both very social and love to have friends visit. One is a medium breed, the other is a smaller dog. About my yard It does not have a fence all the way around but I have never had an issue with this.

Amber is a wonderful person! She loves our sweet pup as much as we do. She feels like one of the family! She stayed at our home for two weeks and we had no worries. She always leaves things as good as, or better than, when we left. And she is a wonderful communicator in words and pictures.

Amber is amazing! She genuinely loves our pup and takes such good care of her. We were gone for two weeks and looked forward to daily updates. Amber took such good care of our pup and our house. She treats them both as if they were her own. We will be booking her again and again!

Amber is such a good sitter! She is so good with our nervous pup, who is curled up with Amber almost as soon as we leave! We look forward to her next visit!

Amber is a delight! She is wonderful with our very shy pup. She is very thorough in her preparation, very communicative, and leaves the house in excellent condition! We have already booked her again.
