I will keep your fur baby’s schedule as similar to their normal as possible when they’re in my care. I will take the time gently bonding with them and making sure they know they can trust me (especially nervous types - we’ve owned many) before we move on to short walks and any other forms of enrichment they enjoy. I crate trained both my boys as pups so am familiar and comfortable with crating if needed. And, of course, I will be providing as much love and attention as they will tolerate! Be prepared for more photos than you know what to do with!

I have no preferences for breeds, but it is very important that I am made aware of any behavioural problems beforehand so I know how to prepare and use my body language effectively when first meeting your fur baby. If they have a medical issue that is easily cared for, we can discuss in person, however please inform me of anything more severe ahead of time so I can ensure it is something I’m equipped to deal with. Lastly, I’m afraid I can’t take on dogs for walking or training that require the use of prong collars, e-collars, spray collars, or other such tools. I don’t mind head collars and figure of eight slip leads if used correctly. Thank you!

Call me crazy, but I’ve always been the type of owner to be constantly talking to my dogs and involving them in everything as if they’re human! I love making a plan for the day that aligns with their schedule and my own, so we can make the most of our time together. We can go on short walks, play outside, play at home, work on some training if wanted, and of course snuggle up together when down time is needed. I’ve also loved making my own healthy treats at home, and using enrichment toys like lick mats to get their minds working and tire them out - especially useful for the types with endless energy, like my Shep had! However, one thing to note is I’m currently receiving treatment for some mobility challenges I’ve been facing so I’m currently only taking on older dogs or those with low to moderate energy needs so both you and I can ensure your fur baby would fit the limited exercise I am able to offer 😄

Hi, I’m Amber, a new Rover member! I recently moved to Norwich and would love to find some part time work doing something I enjoy! I come from a huge pet loving family, so there’s never been a time I haven’t been around them! We currently have six dogs, three horses and nine chickens at home with my family. We have previously owned cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and a hamster as well. I got my first puppy called Danti (my profile picture) at 11, and he was the dog that taught me how to be an owner. I was solely responsible for his care, trained him impeccably and we spent years enjoying agility and obedience to music together until he decided he wanted to slow down. Because of him, I had the confidence to adopt a working Labrador puppy at 18 who I named Shep, and our journey together was one for the books. He taught me how to handle nervousness and reactivity, alongside becoming an expert in dog diet and health as he was a very sensitive chap! Training was his favourite thing to do, and we were always impressing people with all the tricks he knew. Unfortunately, we lost him early last year to cancer at just 2 years old. I miss him terribly but I’ll forever be thankful for the experiences he gave me. I absolutely love the companionship of animals, especially being so far away from mine at home, and would be so grateful to look after your fur babies!

Amber is warm, friendly and resourceful. She went out of her way to fulfil our dog-care arrangement. My dog and I were both very happy with her care and attention and I wouldn’t hesitate to request her services again.
