I dropped off my dogs at the agreed upon time at Amber's front door. Unlike other pet boarding providers I've used in the past, Amber did not invite me in to see the premises where my boys would be. That made me a little uncomfortable as I would have liked to see where the pups would be housed. I hadn't even made it out of the neighborhood and Amber was texting me in a panic because my Doberman had peed in her kitchen and several other places. I told her he never does this at home and never with his regular sitter in her home. I expressed to Amber that this was totally out of character for my pup and thought he'd probably soon calm down and stop "marking." He may have been doing this because Amber has female dogs in the house and Atlas hasn't been around bitches before. In any event, despite my take on the issue, she wasn't willing to give it any time and threatened to call Rover to "retrieve" my dogs and hold them until I was available to pick them up. She could not answer my question about who would take my dogs and to where. Being concerned about some unknown person taking my dogs to an undetermined location, I had no choice but to cancel my vacation, lose $600+ in non- refundable show and hotel expenses, and go get my dogs. I'm my opinion Amber is inexperienced and unprepared to manage the unexpected challenges that inevitably arise with boarding pets. If you're looking for a pet boarding provider who is experienced, prepared, and has a house set-up appropriate for boarding, avoid Amber at all costs. If things don't go just right, she'll leave you in lurch and to hell with your plans.
