Pet care experience

Experienced sitter and walker

Hi! I work from home for now. I have served overseas and that's primarily where my pet sitting experience began. We had a lot of 4-day weekends/holidays and while many people traveled, I was busy working on a degree and caring for their furry family members. Personally, I've had dogs since I was young, in addition to a couple hamsters, fish, lizards and hermit crabs. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, walking, sewing and spending time with family and friends, to include my dogs Zoey, Rico and now Java, a recent foster fail. Your furry family members would be free to spend any of that time with me provided any special health issues, location restrictions (i.e. certain stores or restaurants), or owner preferences (i.e. the owner prefer them to remain at home instead).

Amber was a great sitter! Very communicative with pictures and updates on how my dog was behaving during the stay. My dog is so shy but she took good care of her. I’ll definitely recommend Amber and I’ll have her to watch my Aleki again.

Ms. Amber was great! My dog is still pretty new to me and a nervous rescue. But Amber sent photos to reassure me she was doing fine (more than fine) and was a happy pup when I saw her at the end of the day. Wouldn't definitely recommend Amber for a newer dog who needs a lot of love/reassurance (IE. A bit needy lol)

I currently work from home, so I can provide almost round the clock care when boarding. Other than that, I'm mostly out of the house for medical appts and short errands.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced back yard. I have dog stairs and ramps for safety inside the home. For smaller dogs especially but in general, I try not to leave them alone outside for more than a minute.

Pets

A typical day

In addition to feedings, ensuring fresh water, and a little playtime, I enjoy taking dogs for walks, giving us both exercise. My dog loves to get massages. I have administered medications to my own dog and some I have sat for in Germany, by mouth and eye especially. I do not currently have pet CPR certifications, but I know how to safely perform it. I am certified for people just not pets, yet. Depending on the dog, their habits, location, owner preferences and more, the dog may either sleep with me, in their own bed, in a crate. I typically only have a dog sleep in their crate per the owner's request or suggestion. Any other questions, I'd be glad to discuss with you. I love pets. I primarily sit for dogs, however, am able to care for a variety of animals. I have 3 dogs of my own, Zoey (4 lb Chorkie) and Rico and Java (both mini schnauzer/mini poodle mixes). I also have 2 leopard geckos and a bearded dragon.

I do have my own transportation and have references as well as a few reviews on here of those who I've sat for in their homes. And of course, I can do drop-in visits within a certain radius. I do not have breed or age preferences specifically, however, due to my own medical issues, I can no longer care for larger dogs in my own home. I would like to know how your dog(s) are with other dogs and out in the community, any special needs, etc. I hope to hear from you soon!
