Rover is something I fit into my life whenever I can while I work & continue education. Some seasons are busier than others, and that's normal. Pet Care is already a part of my daily life, so these requests come as a breeze for me. I try to update my calender monthly, but if things don't look right, if your other sitter isn't available, or if you just need someone ASAP, you are always free to message me any time in the app. I try to reply as soon as possible, but sometimes I don't recieve notifications, so it may take me a few hours to reply in some instances. My calender should reflect my un-availability at minimum. If you have any questions, please message me as I am flexible and will accommodate where possible.

Safety, trust & environment

Keeping things fear-free as much as possible is a priority for me. This means, I won't push your pets boundaries if they won't push mine. I like to keep things calm, relaxing, and easy or neutral. When I meet them for the first time during the meet & greet, I wait for them to come up to me. It's what they are comfortable with. This helps everyone establish trust and familiarity. My hope is that I can be your go to whenever you need pet care. Sometimes, I use miracle tones to help with fear, it is soothing and calming for all. Pet TV is a great option for their environment while you are away and a new person is in their home too. I like to stick to a rhythm or routine. As I enter their palace, I introduce myself gently by using a high pitched soft tone and a treat. Then, I let them sniff me out before they welcome me through. Any grievances? No siree! Next, I like to start feedings and medications after activities. But, I take it at their pace. Afterwards, I will take care of cleaning & notes before my departure from their palace. My values when pet sitting: 💖Trust/Familiarity (Completing the Meet&Greet & sticking to a rhythm or routine) 💖Safety (Keeping doors locked) 💖Compassion (Always stay kind, patient & considerate) 💖Comfort (Temperature in the home, toys, beds) 💖Respect (Their boundaries and space) 💖Quality care/Ensuring all goals are met (Fulfilling all visit requirements) I do not force anything.

Information May C. would like to know about your pet

Basic info like their Name, Personality, Activity level, And Special needs/medical conditions. ● Behavior with strangers or concerns like fear of colors, smells, etc. ● Favorite treats, activities, & toys ● Any training Cues ● Breed & stage of life ● Any allergies How often will I need to stop by? How can I best prepare to meet them? What's a fun fact about them? What can I can do to keep them happy and ensure your peace of mind?

A typical day

What do they enjoy? Are they a high-energy roughhouse type who likes to play tug-of-war with their favorite rope? Or are they a gentle nibbler who likes frozen kongs and belly scratches? Or, do they simply prefer to be left alone? I like to take them outside for a walk, focus on training exercises, puzzle feeders, play-time with their favorite toys, brushing, nail trims, or even grooming appointments. Pet TV and miracle tones are great activities too. In a typical day, I would plan to arrive on-time & bring any essentials necessary (but life happens). After I arrive, I'd give them a treat as I greet them. After our sync up, I would get started on any activities before I start their feedings and/or medications. While they eat I like to prep for my departure and get ready for the next visit. Before I go, I make sure meals are prepped, litterboxes are scooped, water dishes are full, the area is clean, safe, and they are happy and calm. I go through ny checklist before I leave. Is the house at the right temp? Are lights off & the door locked before I leave? Check! Let me know how I can make their experience awesome while you are away.

Pet care experience

Nice to meet you, my name is May, and I go by any Pronouns! I am a certified dog trainer with a lifetime of companion care and 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience as well as a pre-vet major. My skills are in veterinary medicine, welfare, conservation, Ecology, and marine biology. I am certified fear free. I have experience with dog & cat grooming, lodging, daycare, training, education, and medical care. I have even worked with dogs from k9 units and search & rescue units. I have 4 cats, and hopefully a dog soon! I can take care of your pets from any age, breed, size, even lizards, birds, fish, or turtles. You name it, and I will be there for them. Common questions: What if my pet has a disability? No problem! You let me know what they need and I can accommodate them, even if they have behavioral issues. What if my pet needs medications? No need to worry. I can administer medications via subcutaneous, transdermal, oral pills or liquids, or even instramuscular. What if my pet is high energy? Those are the best! High energy pets have high activity levels, they require lots of exercise and attention. I can make multiple visits, take them for walks, and even work on training plans while you're away. You'll come home to a happy pet with a new set of skills! Your pets deserve the best. They deserve a guardian. Not just someone who loves them, but who can care for them in all areas. That's what I'm here for. My skills: (and growing) ✨️ Administering medications (via any route; Oral liquid or pill, IM, SQ, Transdermal) ✨️ Grooming/Bathing ✨️ Nail Trims ✨️ Meal Prep & Feeding ✨️ Animal Behavior ✨️ Training ✨️ Medical Care

Amaya took great care of my guinea pig during Christmas week. They went above and beyond and I knew Mac was well cared for!

Amaya did an amazing job watching my kitties. She offered to schedule a meet and greet which made us feel secure leaving our cats for a few days. She kept us updated on them and took some great pictures. I will definitely be reaching out to her again to watch the kitties!!:)

Amaya was wonderful! This was my first experience using Rover and she was so helpful and kind from helping me navigate the app to taking excellent care of Theodore and Emma. I'm always nervous to leave the cats, especially since Theo is a diabetic and requires extra care with medication, but Amaya put my mind at ease and I could actually enjoy my vacation knowing my nerds were in good hands. I can't thank her enough and hope to get the opportunity to work with her in the future.
