If your dog wants to hike serious trails, or take their time sniffing along the neighborhood, I’m happy to match their pace. Cats get plenty of love, playtime, or cozy cuddles—whatever makes them happy. Either way, I’ll get it done, with lots of fun along the way!

Hi there! I’ve been living in Truckee for 12 years - I came for the winters but stayed for the summers. I love being outside and exploring everything this area has to offer, and I’d love to bring your pup along for the adventure. For the past 3+ years, I’ve been doing pet care near full-time and structure my schedule around it so I can be reliable, attentive, and fully present. I know the Truckee/Tahoe neighborhoods and trails very well. Whether we’re exploring your neighborhood and hopping on a nearby trail, or heading out to an exciting trailhead, lake, or river – I can choose safe, fun routes for your pet. I grew up always having dogs and cats in the family, and one of my favorite parts of going home is getting to be “auntie” to my siblings’ and parents’ pets. I’m also a proud cat mommy to a social, hilarious, talkative kitty named Boca! I care for dogs and cats of all personalities - from dogs who want to get out and explore to ones who prefer a relaxed walk, and cats that are social, shy, or a little particular. I have a good connection with animals and am quick to build trust with pets, adjusting to each individual personality so they feel comfortable, safe, and happy.

I hired Amara to walk my dog once a day for three weeks while I recovered from hip replacement surgery. Amara came through for me like a champ. Never missed a day and she handled each walk like a true professional. I was never concerned about my dog running off or getting in trouble. If I am ever in need of dog walking services again, Amara will be the first person I contact.
Amara is always so great with my cat. She sends daily photos and updates and I always feel so comfortable knowing he is getting such great care and attention.
