Pet care experience
Experienced sitter and walker.
I’ve cared for dogs and cats, large and small, young and old, healthy and sick, for nearly 15 years. I’m able to train puppies in walking etiquette and harness walking, and gently encourage older dogs to get their walkies in at their own pace. I’ve cared for dogs recovering from surgery or cancer, dogs with arthritis, and dogs with special dietary needs. Dogs are like people, but better: they each have unique personalities and quirks, but they approach every problem with love and excitement.

Safety, trust & environment
I do not care for pets in my own home as it is too small, however if asked to pet sit for a family I am quickly able to adapt to their pet’s routine, learn their environment, and ensure their beloved pet feels safe and reassured in their absence and gets plenty of play and cuddles. I’m also well-versed in animal first-aid and CPR, experienced with giving medication, and able to sense an animal’s emotional state and give them space or attention depending on their needs.

Amani was amazing. Every step of the way prior to our trip we had a clear line of communication. While we were gone Amani constantly updated us with pictures and messages with our pets. I would highly recommend Amani as a pet sitter!
Amani closely monitored our kitties and gave timely updates. Loved the pictures of them rubbing up against their brush and her breadth of animal care knowledge helped make us feel secure.
Amani was a wonderful house sitter and we felt at ease knowing Marley was in good hands. She’s so thoughtful and Marley didn’t seem like he missed us at all (which is always the goal). She’s the best!
Amani is fabulous. I have a little rescue dog, who has a few rescue quirks. Amani knew how to quickly gain his trust, and she clearly knows how to work with animals. She kept my house clean and tidy, and gave me continual updates. I will absolutely use her again.
Thank you for always going above and beyond for our pup! I feel at ease knowing he’s cared for when I’m unable to walk him.
Amani was wonderful! Got photo updates and see how much fun Tea Boy had. Lots of walks, she was communicative and took good care of him. Would have her watch him again in a heartbeat!

Schedule
I’m a freelance journalist in San Jose, and I use dog-walking to start and end my workday with a little exercise and a lot of fun. I’m currently unable to have a dog of my own (small apartment) but greatly enjoy their company and the opportunity dog-walking gives me to disconnect from my computer and connect with nature, my neighborhood and neighbors, and some canine friends.
