As a young girl, I was befriended by two stray German Shepherd dogs that I named Poochie and Sweetheart. The three of us were inseparable. This childhood love grew into an adoration for giant breeds. As an adult, I shared 13 years of life with Lucy, an intuitive, strong-willed English Mastiff, with a keen sense of humor, always ready to share her kind-hearted and gentle spirit. Her passing has left me with experience, time, and lots of love to share with your dogs. Throughout the years, I have worked at veterinary clinics and boarding facilities as a kennel attendant. While living in the Colorado Rockies, Lucy and I became a certified therapy team and volunteered our companionship with the elderly living in nursing homes. In addition, I have shared my home as a foster animal parent. My experience is not limited to our canine companions. I have also cared for chickens, guinea pigs, mice, bunnies, cats, a wild cardinal family, a squirrel, and a couple of horses and miniature cows along the way. I consider each encounter with an animal to be an honor and privilege.
