I love animals and they love me!
My greatest passion in life is caring for and communicating with dogs, cats, squirrels, other animals, and plants. I have been caring for animals for over 20 years, my first experience included walking, feeding, and playing with my neighbor's Jack Russell. My family quickly noticed my affinity for pet care and the following year we adopted our own Jack Russell, Minnie, who I had the joy of calling my sister and best friend. Minnie and I spent 18 years together and through that time I cared for her in all conditions- from energetic running pup to stroller-riding elder. I held her paw as she took her last breath and will be forever changed by the love and joy she planted in my heart. I now have my own baby, a Jack Russell Pinecone, who is 1 year old. She is my angel on Earth and means the absolute world to me. I know how precious each pet is and will do my best to ensure their happiness, wellbeing, and peace. I care for and dote on your precious pets as if they were my own family, and am so excited to meet them! I require a meet & greet before our first booking. I value clear communication and will be in touch either through the Rover app or via text to let you know when I am walking or caring for your pet. After each walk I will sit with your dog outside for about 5-10 minutes, if they want. This gives us time to observe and listen to the surroundings which will stimulate your dog's brain and also enhance our trust/bond. Most dogs love to do this and enjoy a chance to just sit outside and sniff. You will receive a Rover Card and photo with each visit and I will take time to ensure that your pet is comfortable and safe before I leave. Or visit: https://www.rover.com/sit/amandw17805 Over the past 20 years I have had the joyful experience of caring for and befriending the following animals- Dogs (Jack Russell, Labs, Westie, Pit Bull, Golden Retriever, Bernese Mountain Dog, Weimaraner, Doodles, German Shephard, Muts (mixed), and more), Cats (indoor/outdoor), Fish (piranha, guppies, angels, goldfish, and more), Rodents (squirrels, gerbils, hamsters), Turtles, Wild Birds, and Wild Squirrels. I am able to take care of any age animal, from nursing to elder. I have experience bottle/dropper feeding with formula and administering medication. I only accept overnight bookings if I can also bring my dog Pinecone (1.5 years, Jack Russell). She is friendly, well behaved, house trained, socialized, and works with me frequently so is used to staying overnight at client's houses. She will keep your pups company and together they will have a great time while you are traveling! I have a BS in biology and environmental sustainability from EMU and a MS in Marine Biosciences from UD. I own and operate my own gardening business, Cosmos Gardens. I love playing soccer, kayaking, hiking, stargazing, and squirrel watching.

I am willing to go with your pets routine and individual care needs. I am gentle, patient, and loving and greatly enjoy spending time with animals. I can read to them, play, teach tricks, chill/nap with, or walk them.

A typical day
I will play your pet's favorite game, take them for a walk, or sit outside and observe nature with them. We can go to the river and swim or get our feet wet, explore a new trail, and play a game of hide and seek. I can set up a food puzzle/search game, teach new tricks, and take a nap. We can do whatever your pets like to do!
