Pet care experience
Genuine animal lover
As a child I was only allowed Guinea pigs, so I used to ask my neighbours if I could walk their dogs, GSDs no less! As a mum, me and my daughter had rescue dogs (GSDx, greyhound, lurcher) Guinea pigs, a rabbit we found in the street, two snakes, fish, mice, rats, gerbils, and degu. I also home boarded various small caged animals including a huge cage with three chinchillas. As a wife, we lived on a farm and had horses, goats, chickens, geese, ducks and a pig. We took the semi-feral farm cats with us when we left. I still have our two ponies, and we’ve currently got two rescue dogs (Sheprador and Rottweiler) another ex-farm cat, and still got a guinea pig. I’m very experienced with training dogs, and understanding rescue/senior dogs (mine all lived to 14yrs). I know far too much about guinea pigs having bred and exhibited at shows for years.

A typical day
A walk isn’t just about running and jumping. Equally important is lots of time to sniff and explore all the delicious smells that can be found out and about. There are times when it’s important to calmly walk to heel, and other times where a loose lead and some patience helps to discover those hard to reach smells. Playing with toys together is very important for building trust and having fun, and strokes and scratches during calm times helps pets stay happy and content.
