Pet care experience
Life-long dog lover and caregiver
My first priority is your dog's happiness! I've had a dog in my life since Day 1, so I understand what important members of the family they are. Growing up, we acquired every single one of our family dogs as seniors and cared for them through to the end of their lives, which included some special care for seizures and diabetes. My own dog came into my life when he was only 5 months, and I dedicated myself to his happiness until he passed almost 11 years later. Though I'm not ready for a new dog of my own yet, I'm excited to channel my love of dogs and their care into my clients here on Rover! I have also volunteered at multiple animal shelters, walking and socializing a range of dogs, and worked for 6 months as a professional dog-walker. I am also Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR certified. Having cared for so many different dogs in various capacities, I know that each ones needs are unique to them. Special diet? Done that! High-energy pup? I'm a runner and love going for hikes and long walks, so I'm happy to keep them active in whatever activity you're comfortable with. I'm happy to accommodate whatever is needed in order to make sure they have a wonderful stay while they're in my home. //IMPORTANT// For any new boarders, I have a 5-day stay maximum. The meet & greets are nice, but don't give a clear picture of how a dog will react once they're in this new environment for more than those 20-ish minutes, and without their families. A shorter first stay will allow us both to get a more solid idea of if we're a good fit.

Amanda was great with Zephyr. Shortly after dropping my dog off she sent an update and then we received on every day and often with a picture. She also provided a furbo link for the periods that she was at work. I always felt my dog was in good, caring hands.

Ande loves staying with Amanda! He always comes home happy and tired from all the attention. All the pics are a definite plus— she somehow always makes Ande look like a dog model 😆. Would book again a thousand times over.
Amanda was extremely organized and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. Her home was a perfect fit for Timon and he came home in tip top shape, ready to get back to lounging around on the couch. We would absolutely recommend and consider Amanda for future trips. It was a pleasure.

Amanda was great with Mocca Girl for the one night as she doesn't do well with other dogs or being boarded/crated. It was comforting knowing Amanda doesn't have any pets and only takes one dog as a time. I highly recommend! . Look forward to next stay with her if she's available. THANK YOU Amanda
Always amazing and communicative ❤️ we really leave our pups with no worries with Amanda. Excited for the next time.

Amanda was absolutely excellent with my 6-year-old, 110-pound, high-energy dog — and that’s no small task! He can definitely be a handful at times, but she handled him with confidence and care for all 5 nights he stayed with her. She took him on long daily walks (which he really needs to burn off energy and stay calm), and it made such a difference. Amanda was extremely responsive and sent daily pictures and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear she truly cares about the dogs she watches. I highly recommend Amanda and would love to have her watch my dog anytime I’m away!

Schedule
My job is mostly remote, only requiring me to work from the office for 4 hours on Tuesdays and Fridays. I spend about an hour either on a run or at the gym 6 days a week, and beyond that my days are almost entirely spent at home, so I would be able to provide constant supervision and attention.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a spacious 2-story home, but use doggy gates to restrict my canine guests' access to the first floor. I don't currently have any pets of my own, so I can provide my full attention to your dog while they're with me. I'm happy to accommodate whatever your dog is used to, whether it be with or without a crate, restricted or free access to the couch, etc. I want to make sure both you and your dog are comfortable!
A typical day
There are lots of fun things to do in and around my home! I have a collection of toys on-hand, and am always down for some playtime. I live across the street from a small park, a couple blocks from a large one, and one block from the bike path. I run 3 times a week and am always looking for a buddy, and am familiar with a number of great hiking spots in the area.
