First Aid Certified Dog Sitter 🐾
Hi there!! My name is Amanda—nice to meet you! 😊 I’d love to share a bit about myself, I offer Day Care, Dog Walking, Drop in Visits and Boarding. 🙌🏻 I am certified in Pet First Aid through the Canadian Red Cross, including: ❤️ CPR and rescue breathing 🩹 Injury care and wound management ⚠️ Emergency response (heatstroke, hypothermia, seizures, allergic reactions, choking, and more) 🧰 Prevention, safety, and preparedness This means I’m trained to handle real emergencies—not just daily care—so your pet is in capable, prepared hands at all times. 🐾 My Experience & Approach I’m a patient, kind, and attentive caregiver who truly loves animals. I’ve had both dogs and cats since I was 10 years old, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. In addition to basic care, I focus on dog training and mental stimulation to keep your dog happy, balanced, and engaged. This can include: Reinforcing basic commands (sit, stay, recall, leash manners) Positive reinforcement techniques Interactive play and enrichment activities Mental stimulation games to reduce boredom and anxiety I believe a well-stimulated dog is a happier and calmer dog, and I tailor activities to each pet’s personality and energy level. 🌿 Location & Daily Routine Located near Smythe Park, along with access to a grass courtyard and a park next door. Your dog will enjoy: Plenty of walks and outdoor time Safe, structured play Fresh air and exercise throughout the day Socialization with other dogs (including my dog, Peaches) is always carefully supervised and only done with owner approval. I also follow a strict no off-leash policy outdoors to ensure maximum safety. 🏡 Personalized Care I closely follow each owner’s instructions to make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and at home. I can: Administer medication if needed Accommodate special routines or requirements Provide regular updates for your peace of mind I’m always happy to arrange a meet-and-greet beforehand to ensure the perfect fit. My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and engaging environment where your dog feels happy, stimulated, and well cared for—while also making things as convenient as possible for you. Looking forward to meeting you and your furry family member! 🐾

Amanda and her daughter Solaris took very good care of Duck! They sent us lots of pictures and videos. Duck had a really great time. Would definitely trust them to take care of Duck again if needed.

Amanda took a great care of my doggy. Great at communicating too! Would definitely book with her again :)

Once again, Boo loved hanging out with Amanda & Peaches. She is very much looking forward to her next play date!

Amanda and her daughter looked after my 8 month old whippet for most the day. I got regular pictures and updates and my pup had a lovely time with their dog Peaches. Communication was fast and detailed. We will be back for more doggy day care!

Amanda was an excellent dog sitter. She took great care of my dog and was clearly attentive, patient, and genuinely caring. Her communication was consistent and reassuring. She kept me updated regularly, which gave me real peace of mind while I was away. She was also very reliable and professional throughout, and her pricing was very reasonable for the level of care she provided. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate sitter.
We used Amanda for the first time this week for a 2 nights stay. We had a very last minute trip come up and Amanda was very responsive in getting back to me.with her availability. During our time away she updated me with messages and pictures of our Winnie playing and going out for walks. I would highly recommend Amanda and plan to use her again soon this summer.

Schedule
Pet care fits naturally into my routine since I’m home most of the week. I provide regular walks, feeding, playtime, and supervision throughout the day. Dogs are not left alone for long periods and get plenty of attention and care.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
Safety and comfort are my top priorities when caring for pets in my home. I provide a clean, dog-friendly environment where dogs can feel relaxed and secure. I always supervise interactions and make sure each dog has their own space if they need time to rest or decompress. I have a friendly dog named Peaches, and I take introductions very seriously. I introduce dogs slowly and carefully to ensure they are comfortable with each other, and I always monitor their interactions closely to maintain a positive environment. Throughout the day, I provide regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of attention. I follow each dog’s specific routine, including feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any special instructions from the owner. I’m also mindful of safety at all times—keeping hazardous items out of reach, ensuring doors and gates are secure, and closely observing behavior to prevent any issues before they arise. My goal is to create a safe, calm, and home-like environment where every dog feels cared for, comfortable, and happy.

A typical day
A typical day is all about keeping dogs happy, active, and comfortable in a home-like environment. We start the morning with a walk and some outdoor time to get fresh air and burn off energy, followed by breakfast (depending on feeding time) and a calm settling period. Throughout the day, I include a mix of fun and relaxing activities depending on each dog’s personality and energy level. Fun activities can include interactive play like fetch or tug, puzzle toys for mental stimulation, and supervised social time with my dog Peaches for dogs who enjoy companionship. I also make time for one-on-one attention, whether that’s cuddles, gentle play, or just relaxing together. There are regular potty breaks and outdoor time, and if weather permits, longer walks or park visits. I keep the environment calm and structured so dogs feel safe, while still having plenty of opportunities to play and explore. In the evening, we wind down with a relaxed walk, dinner, and quiet time so they can settle in comfortably. My goal is to make every dog feel like they’re on a fun, safe, and loving mini vacation while you’re away!

- Before caring for any pet, I like to gather as much information as possible to make sure I can provide a safe and comfortable experience. I ask about the dog’s daily routine, including feeding schedule, exercise needs, and any specific habits or preferences. I also like to know their temperament—how they interact with other dogs (especially since I have my dog, Peaches), new people, and different environments. It’s important for me to understand any medical needs, allergies, or medications, as well as any behavioral considerations such as anxiety, triggers, or things they may be uncomfortable with. I also ask about training level, commands they respond to, and whether they are crate-trained or have any special instructions for rest time. In addition, I request emergency contact and vet information so I’m fully prepared in case of any unexpected situation. I also enjoy learning about their favorite toys, treats, or comforts from home to help them feel more relaxed and settled. Whenever possible, I prefer to do a meet-and-greet beforehand to ensure it’s a great fit for everyone and that the dog feels comfortable in my care. My goal is to keep their routine as consistent as possible so they feel safe, happy, and at home while in my care.
