I work as a healthcare professional on an as-needed basis, which has strengthened my skills in patience, observation, and caring for others with different needs. I am also a figure skating coach and create my own coaching schedule, giving me additional flexibility throughout the week. Since I am new to the area, I have the ability to accommodate a variety of schedules and am happy to work with your pet’s routine and needs. Every pet has their own personality, routine, and way of communicating, and I love taking the time to get to know what makes each one unique. A typical day of care includes following your pet’s normal routine, providing plenty of attention, and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. With cats, I focus on building trust at their own pace. I pay close attention to their body language and non-verbal cues to understand when they want attention, playtime, or a little extra space. I love engaging cats with their favorite toys, whether that’s string toys, laser pointers, or simply giving them affection on their terms. I also enjoy keeping their environment clean, refreshing food and water, maintaining litter box routines, and watching for any changes in behavior. For dogs, I enjoy providing both physical activity and mental stimulation through walks, playtime, and enrichment. I’ll make sure they get the exercise and attention they need while also maintaining their normal routines and comfort. My goal is always to make your pets feel like they are getting a fun, safe, and personalized day of care, even while their favorite person is away!

I’ve been caring for animals my entire life, with a special love for cats! Growing up in a cat-loving household gave me a deep understanding of feline personalities, body language, and the little things that help cats feel safe and comfortable. From playful kittens to senior cats needing extra patience and care, I’ve enjoyed getting to know each cat as an individual and providing the attention they need. Over the years, I’ve also gained hands-on experience caring for dogs through Rover clients and my own family’s pets. I understand that every dog has their own routine, energy level, and personality, and I love creating a comfortable, structured environment where they can feel happy and secure. I have experience caring for pets with a variety of needs, including senior animals, cats with medical needs, prescription diets, and pets who may be shy, fearful or take extra time to warm up. I myself own a cat with prescription food/medication needs and another that is very fearful and anxious. I pride myself on being observant and detail-oriented, whether that means noticing a small change in behavior, keeping routines consistent, or making sure every pet gets plenty of love, playtime, and attention. What sets me apart is the genuine care and effort I put into every visit. I treat every pet as if they were my own and every home with the same respect and care I would want for my own. Amanda was great and conscientious. One of my cats is shy and hides from everyone. Amanda made sure to find her and make sure she was okay. She even watered some plants for me so they wouldn't die.
Amanda was absolutely wonderful! This was our first time ever leaving our cat home with a sitter while we were away, and we were definitely a little nervous. From the very first visit, Amanda put us completely at ease. She took such great care of Eleanor, followed all of our care instructions, and made sure she was happy and comfortable while we were gone. The daily updates and adorable pictures meant so much to us and gave us so much peace of mind, we always knew how Eleanor was doing and could truly relax and enjoy our vacation. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for kitty, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We would absolutely book with Amanda again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter!
My cats are doing great after Amanda looked after them for 10 days while I was away. She was attentive and communicative, and even called and recorded videos when she was unsure about something which I really appreciated. Will book again!
Amanda did an amazing job taking care of our 3 cats. We were out of town for a few weeks and it was our first time using River for them. Amanda did such a great job keeping us updated, sending lots of photo, and even making sure she found the “shy” cat during each visit, knowing the cat was still doing well. Her updates of how much the cats ate, used the bathroom, etc were also reassuring that the 3 cats were doing well. We will definitely use her again in the future and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to get an excellent and reliable pet sitter! ❤️
