Amanda is very professional and I really appreciated that she asked for emergency information at the meet and greet. my dog loved her the minute she came in.

Amanda was the perfect pup-sitter! She came ahead of time to help our very skittish dog get more comfortable around her then sent us regular updates to know our pup was doing. It was clear to us that Amanda has a genuine love of personalities of dogs, she did a great job meeting ours at her level. Cannot thank or recommend highly enough, will definitely use again! :)

Run w/ dogs + Obedience training!

I just don’t think that there’s any better way to spend time than with lovable pups! I honestly believe that dogs are angels sent from above to show us what love and kindness really looks like. That’s what inspired me to become a dog sitter! Their selfless, giving spirit is so amazing, and I have always been inspired by them to give back to them however I can. That’s why being ...

Do you have a vet nearby that you trust?
Is your dog spayed/neutered?
Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening?
What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid?
What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

When Amanda watches your pet

I’m a runner in training, so your pup will be right at home with me if they like to get lots of exercise! I love morning and evening runs and often take my dog. I've got extraordinary patience after working with my giant baby dog for over a year, and he’s definitely taught me a lot about the mechanics of running alongside a pup. There are plenty of other things to do outside of running, too! I love going to dog parks. My favorite dog park uptown is in St. Nicholas Park. Occasionally I also go to the dog run in Marcus Garvey park. If a dog doesn't like the dog run or interacting with other dogs too much, I'll take him/her through all the nooks and crannies of my two favorite parks. Also, I always walk on the shady side of the street to make sure your pooch stays cool as a cucumber.

Dog parks are also really fun, but can get a little too rough depending on the dog. I watch my own dog like a hawk for any signs of distress. I've become something of an expert in breaking up too much rough play and de-escalating tension at the dog park. I'm also experienced in leash training an exuberant 60 lb puppy using the positive reinforcement method and lots of healthy treats. I do my research on best dog care practices and always try to be up to date on canine care research.
