Pet care experience

Experienced Petsitter & Caregiver

I have worked as a pet boarder and sitter on Rover for about a year. Having previously worked as a certified nursing assistant, I have experience as a caregiver, and one of my greatest passions is caring for pets. Dogs and cats are members of a family, and it is so important to care for them as you would any other family member. I have several years of experience boarding dogs for their owners when they have been on vacation, and have also cared for my own animals throughout my whole life. I also have experience as an animal transporter for West Hancock canine rescue, in which I would work with a team to take dogs and cats from high kill shelters to foster homes or rescues. I also have a wonderful dog I rescued, Ollie, who is friendly and likes to play with other dogs at times.

House Sitting • May 17, 2026

Amanda is the most responsible and caring dog sitter I’ve ever met. Our family had a trip planned, and initially we left our dog at PetSmart. Unfortunately, due to anxiety, our dog injured her paw there. PetSmart was concerned that her stress might lead to further self-harm, so they asked us to pick her up. Since we couldn’t cancel our trip last minute, we reached out to Amanda for help. She went above and beyond in every way. Amanda came to our home multiple times a day to keep our dog company. Because of the paw injury, extra care was needed, and Amanda handled it all perfectly—she cleaned and applied medication to the wound every day, took our dog on gentle, easy walks, and even gave her a thoughtful bath on the last night. When we returned, we were touched to find a carefully prepared gift along with new toys and supplies for our dog. Amanda truly treats every dog like a member of her own family. I can’t recommend her highly enough—she is absolutely wonderful, and we are so grateful to have found her.

Amanda and her family were very kind to take Copper in at short notice. They have a big fenced backyard that is perfect for a dog that enjoys running around and being outdoors. She sent photos and gave updates during his stay. Copper came home happy and fresh from a bath. We forgot one of his toys and Amanda was kind enough to let us know about it and arranged a time to pick it up after his stay. Thank you again!

Amanda and her family took such great care of Daisy. Amanda regularly communicated with us on how things were going throughout our time away. The next time we need to go out of town, we will absolutely have Amanda and her family take care of our Daisy. Thank you so much Amanda !

Amanda and her family went above and beyond my wildest expectations! "Iggy" had never been away before and I was nervous leaving him for 4 days. Amanda Sent pictures and videos to show how much fun Iggy was having with her family and Ollie. They took him on walks, to the dog park and even gave Iggy a bath. When I picked him up he was happy and tired, a great sign that he had been playing and enjoying himself. Highly recommend+

If our dog could speak, I know that she would tell us how much fun she had with Amanda and her family. I highly recommend Amanda for dog sitting, and we will absolutely use her again in the future. Thank you, Amanda, for taking such good care of our dog!

Doggy Day Care • Jun 27, 2021

Amanda is very kind & took care of our pet so well. We were concerned as it was our dog’s first time in day care. They have a nice big backyard, they played with our dog, took her for a walk & gave a comfortable & cool environment for her to take a nap. Our pet is a picky eater, so next time something interesting has to be made to feed her in our absence. Overall, Amanda & her family & her pet gave the same warmth to our dog as we would, and we felt as though our pet got another home.!
