Pet care experience

Experienced Animal Whisperer

As a child and young adult, I raised and cared for dogs. I currently have four Russian Blue cats that are my support animals and I adore them. I am often asked to care for animals because “you treat our pets like they’re your own”. Animals have always flocked to me and I’ve never been able to explain why but I do enjoy caring for them as I’d they were my own. I do currently work full time on 12 hour shifts. I work 4 days on and have 4 days off. My days off rotate weekly. If your animal needs a bathroom break within an 8-12 hour time frame, my niece (also on Rover) works with me to help care for animals.

Safety, trust & environment

My cats currently free roam in their home environment however I would be able to accommodate most requests. I live in a townhouse that does have stairs, 31 stairs to be exact and I do not have a fenced yard but I do have a smaller patch of grass in the front of my yard. I live in a small, safe subdivision that’s more than suitable for dog walking. I am also close to forest preserve trails for trail walking as well. My kittens are socialized and up to date on their vaccines but prefer to play with each other and not other animals. To keep my babies safe and healthy, I do not board any animals nor do I offer any day care services in my home. The only exception I might consider would be a very small puppy, and a meet & greet in my home is necessary.

Everything was great, just as all the past times were. The cats seemed happy and healthy and I didn’t worry one bit while I was gone because Amanda always takes great care of them. Extremely happy with the service provided!

Amanda did a great job with our cats while we were away! She updated us with photos, while she spent time with them and that totally put my two daughters at ease. She also brought some large packages in from our front porch, which was a total help. We'd definitely book with Amanda again in the future. Thanks so much!

Amanda was amazing, our dogs were so happy and informed us everyday how our doggos were doing. I will totally book her again. She is super friendly, our dogs didn’t bark when they meet her and made sure our dogs were having a good time while we were gone. .

Schedule

I always say that I am not able to be with your pet all of the time, but I can be with them most of the time. I do work full time now so if I am staying in home with your animals and it’s a day I have to work, there will be 8-12 hours in between potty breaks.

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Amanda can host up to 2 drop-ins per day
Firstly, any medical issues or medications that need to be administered. Secondly, how your animal does with other humans and other animals. No one likes surprises. Thirdly, in the event of an emergency, although I hope that never to be the case, vet information and how your animal responds to stress and other mannerisms.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
