I care for pets full-time and have a lot of flexibility, weekdays and weekends. I'm able to drive though don't have access to a car, and my main modes of transportation are walking and public transit.

Written instructions for how to best care for and spend time with your animal friends is helpful for me, and I'll also make sure to take detailed notes when we first meet. I'm committed to keeping them as comfortable and happy as possible and will ask about their routines, preferences, and life experiences. I’m happy to provide regular text, photo, and video updates throughout our time together and will do my best to meet your preferred communication method and frequency. If my rates are a barrier to working together, I'm also happy to discuss what might feel more accessible, when requested. I do my best to be COVID responsive - I'm fully vaccinated (as of Sept. 2025) and will wear a mask any time we're indoors together.

I’ll ask about any trauma your pet may have previously experienced and current impacts. I also like to know about any aggressive tendencies, physical injuries (historical and current), and medical needs to approach them in a way that feels as safe as possible for everyone.
A typical day
I love to visit parks and the waterfront (when possible) for walks & play time, or lounging in the sun with puppy friends. I’m also happy to find more quiet streets to stroll with pals that prefer or need that - I try my best to match their energy and preferences!

Hi, I'm amanda (they/ them), a full-time animal caregiver! **If my rates are a barrier to working together, I'm happy to discuss what might feel more accessible, when requested.** I'm so grateful to share my passion and caregiving experience with your furry family members. I grew up taking care of my family’s Yorkie and German Shepherd/ Golden/ Chow Chow mix and love spending time with pups of all ages and sizes. For almost a decade, I've been living with my (now senior) kitten, escher, who has also taught me all about how to be a cat person! I have experience administering subcutaneous fluids, oral medications, and caring for senior animals with specific dietary needs, urinary tract/ gastro/ digestive issues, and anxiety. I look forward to meeting and getting to know your more-than-human friends!

Amanda is fabulous! They came to stay with my senior dog and high maintenance cat and did a wonderful job. There was great communication and they sent fun pictures everyday.
Amanda is brilliant! They were so good with our pup (who instantly adored them, and cried when they left after two nights!) and even did some training with her while we were away. They have a very calm energy and our 4 month old Berner definitely picked up on that. I felt very confident leaving our pup with them and will definitely hire them again to look after her if we go away.
Amanda always does an amazing job taking care of our dog and our house. Highest recommendation.
