Veterinary Assist. Safe/Calm stays

Hi! My name is Amanda, and caring for animals isn’t just something I do, it’s who I am. I’m a veterinary assistant with years of hands on experience working with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs. This allows me to provide a level of care, safety, and observation that goes far beyond typical pet sitting. I specialize in boarding dogs in my home, where they are treated like family in a calm, safe, and structured environment. I’m especially comfortable caring for senior dogs, anxious dogs, and pets who require medications, including oral medications and injections. Many of my clients come to me specifically because they want the peace of mind that their pet is with someone who understands health, behavior, and early warning signs. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. As a mom, veterinary professional, and lifelong animal advocate, my home is built around compassion, patience, and safety. I’m also experienced in handling dogs with special needs, medical histories, or behavioral sensitivities. I provide regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know your pet is safe, comfortable, and happy. If you’re looking for reliable, professional level care where your pet will be truly understood and protected. Amanda and her family are superb dog sitters. They have cared for our little guy -- Baxter -- on several occasions. I recommend her wholeheartedly!

Schedule

Other than being a mom, I'm a full-time Vet Tech at Brownsburg Low Cost Spay and Neuter Clinic. My husband and I like to walk our dogs or any dogs under our care.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs, 1 cat
Children 6-12 years old
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 8+ hours

Safety, trust & environment

My home has a fenced in backyard with two stories. I only ask that you bring proof that your pets are up to date on all vaccines and are on a flea preventive. We gate our upstairs so most of their stay will be confined to downstairs. We have extra kennels for your preference. Our furniture is covered so they are allowed on our furniture. My husband and I like to walk our dogs or any dogs under our care. Essentially, our home is their home!

Pets

A typical day

We normally take the dogs for a walk to pick up the kids from school when it’s nice out. We are a stone's throw from the B&O trail which we often walk. We have several toys to play with in the backyard and my kids love playing with the dogs in the backyard as well!
