Pet care experience

I’ve never met a dog I didn’t love!

I grew up as the daughter of a professional dog trainer, so thoughtful, attentive dog care has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My partner Mitch and I genuinely love having dogs in our home, and we aim to give every guest safe, loving, individualized care. Our sweet 15-year-old dog, Chunk, is a gentle and easygoing host. We also have a cat, so we’re unable to accept dogs with a history of aggression toward dogs or cats. What a stay with us looks like: • Individualized care for puppies, seniors, high-energy, reactive, and special-needs dogs • A comfortable home setting with a secure fenced yard, cozy resting spots, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of companionship • Daily exercise and enrichment tailored to your dog’s interests, from sniff walks and fetch to hikes, puzzles, and light training practice • Extra safety precautions, including a tracking collar during their stay and long leads for safe outdoor exploration • Thoughtful daily updates with high-quality photos and notes about how your dog is doing • Attentive routine care, including medications, post-adventure checks, basic grooming, and close attention to behavior and wellbeing • A fresh send-off, with brushing, ear and paw care, a gentle freshen-up, and washed bedding, blankets, or toys when needed I’m trained in canine CPR and happy to reinforce basic manners while following your preferred training methods. Every guest also goes home with a personalized stay report card with highlights, routines, favorite activities, and a few memorable moments from their visit. Our goal is simple: for your dog to feel less like they’re being boarded and more like they’re staying at a summer camp designed just for them.

Amanda and Mitchell did an amazing job taking care of Louie while we were out of town for 5 days. They were great about taking Louie on daily walks and trips to the park, and provided lot updates with photos! They were very understanding when our return flight was delayed, and Amanda even offered to drop him off for free which was a huge help. He was a happy and tired boy when he got home!! Thank you Amanda and Mitchell, we will be back!

Had an absolutely amazing experience having Amanda and Michell watch our Lucy. We’d never left a pet with strangers before, and they couldn’t have made the process more comfortable. Amanda sent daily photos and a brief note on what they did that day. Lucy got to go on many long walks and hikes, and really became part of their family. At the end of her stay, we received a report card on Lucy’s behavior, which was the cutest thing ever. Without hesitation, I’d use Amanda and Michell again, and highly recommend them to anyone needing a pet sitter.

Amanda is easily the best caregiver I've had for my dog, Argo. She understands exactly what Argo needs at all time - be it play, love, exercise, food, etc. - and so affectionately I think of her as a 'dog whisperer'. She goes above and beyond and often sends me pics and videos from my time away from Argo, which I greatly appreciate. Amanda comes from a long line of dog trainers and it's evident in the way she's able to de-escalate any situation among dogs, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend her to anyone who is looking for the best care for their pup! I've been using her services for years, and don't want to go to anyone else!

Amanda would be my first, second, and third choice to watch any animal. She has the kindness, patience, and understanding to make any critter feel safe. She is also one of the most responsible people I have had the pleasure of doing business with. She’s punctual, organized, and very knowledgeable about the wide range of needs for different animals. Animals pick her as much as she picks them which is testimony enough to her special connection. Amanda consistently earns a five out of five star review every time!

I can’t recommend Amanda enough as a dog walker and pet caregiver. Amanda and I lived together, with both of our dogs, and she is truly the definition of a "dog person" – she has an innate understanding of dogs, a deep love of dogs, and the ability to make any dog comfortable with her. Plus, her mother was a dog trainer, so she has extensive knowledge of dog behavior. My dog immediately felt comfortable with Amanda, and I always had peace of mind when I was gone knowing my pup was in the best hands. Amanda is reliable, patient, kind and truly loves animals – she is the ideal dog caregiver.

Schedule

I work from home so I can be as available as your dog needs. My partner also is home for most of the day, and only works in the evenings so one of us is almost always home. We live surrounded by trails and parks so your dog will have ample adventures during their stay.

Safety, trust & environment

Every dog will be treated with the same love and care as if they were our own. We have a large fenced yard that they are free to roam, and a cozy home with dog beds everywhere. We allow dogs on couch and bed, though I can maintain any rules you have in your home for consistency. We do also have a cat so we cannot accept any dogs that are in any way aggressive towards cats or small critters.

Pets

A typical day

There are numerous trails as well as semi-fenced open fields that your dog will love to explore. I can take them out for runs or easy sniffing adventures, whatever they’re up for!

Amanda & Mitchell can host up to 2 pets per night
Due to other animals in the home, a senior dog and a cat, I can only accept dogs that are not aggressive to other animals. However, I’m happy to keep them separated as needed if your pup is just shy or needs more quiet or alone time with me.
