Sport dog trainer with extra time!

Pet care experience

Hi my Name is Amanda! I am now a retired Sport Dog trainer. Now I call myself a Sport dog training enthusiast as I don’t take training clients anymore due to career change. Haha! I have an passion for dogs and horses! I've ridden horses since I was 7 years old. I have ample experience with all aspects of equine care & nutritional needs. And heavy experience with dogs in ALL aspects. Specifically high-drive working dog breeds: Bordercollies, Belgian Malinois, Mcnabs, & German Sheperds. I'm looking to fill in some extra time, by helping you care for your pet while you have to be away! I would give your dog mental and physical exercise, to keep your dog healthy while in my care! 😃 • Additional care availability for: cats, rodents or reptiles, equine, sheep/goats, pigs, fish. Further experience details: Currently I’m established as a volunteer with with 5 different non-profit rescue organizations. Since 2008 I have fostered many dogs, cats, & guinea pigs. Most recent years, I mainly do volunteer transport, rehabilitation fostering, some short-term emergency foster, & complete/write behavioral assessments for dogs in city/county municipal animal shelters. In 2019 I started sport dog training. I have experience in training competitive dog frisbee, beginning/intermediate herding, behavioral work, agility, and basic obedience. I have intensive experience with the treatment & rehabilitation care requirements of dog sport injuries. (ACL repairs, Cruciate repairs, surgery site care, bone break repairs etc.) I also have ample experience with pregnant, nursing, & whelping dogs. Extra info: • Experienced with charting & administering medications to pets. • Follow & carry out owners EXACT care-plan for each pet. I will not apply changes without owners permission. • Consistent, reliable, & responsive to owners communicating to myself before, during, and after pets *scheduled care. • I prefer AND recommend meet & greets for all clients

Amanda was great. She was always on time and took a lot of pictures, which I appreciated. Three dogs that miss their owner can be handful but she handled them like a Pro. Strongly recommend Amanda for the care of your pets.

She was awesome with my four dogs even though they are definitely a handful (three over 60lbs and one 40lbs). Normally I take them with me on trips just because they are a lot to deal with (especially for one person) but was unable to this time. I’m very thankful that she was able to watch them last minute and worked with me on every aspect of the dog sit. I could tell my dogs were happy (which is most important) and had an eventful day when I got home just by their calm demeanor. I really appreciate that she took the time to give them each one on one time during her visits, which can be difficult with two being the jealous/attention-hogging type. She brought her own treats and a frisbee to play with which was so thoughtful and the pictures she took also showed how much they enjoyed her visits. I will definitely be asking her to dog sit again.

•Care in your home will be done according to the care-plan you specify. ———————————————————— •Pet Boarding clients in my home: A Quiet peaceful space and Predictable schedule for your pet. Feeding regimen per owners care-plan. Bathroom & exercise time will be a mutually agreed and built part of your pets care plan. All dogs needs are different. I am home all day & only leave for errands or outings for my two children. I do not live with others AND do not have frequent visitors. My children ARE experienced with respecting & reading dog behavior, and do not partake in the care & interaction of boarding clients. Your pets will never be allowed to be *un-supervised loose in the home or yard. I run a very highly managed schedule for all pets in my home to meet all pets needs. Your pet will be in a crate when I rotate dogs in the yard. They will have AMPLE time outside of their crate consistently through the day for potty, exercise, & 1 on 1 time play/petting. My personal dogs are all Dog-neutral & extremely friendly, they do not have dog-to-dog reactivity problems. They would LOVE to play with your DOG FRIENDLY/PLAYFUL dogs. *Though your dogs will not be allowed loose with my personal dogs unless owner gives clear permission.* •All dogs will be crated when supervision is not available. Your dog should have crate training experience before boarding with me to help make your pets time in a dog crate familiar 😃 ••*I am willing to take non-crate trained dogs. But for your pets comfort they should be exposed to being in a crate in your own home prior to boarding.* •• *highly reactive or crate stressed dogs with destructive behaviors will need to have a solid sided plastic crate of appropriate size for pet by the owner for the boarding duration*

If they have a favorite 'potty word' , and potty area, they use with there pet. Any and all allergies to meds or food, to be aware of. Info to contact owner in case of an emergency. Any past surgeries, or if any recent infections of Parvo, Coccidiosis, or kennel cough.

A typical day

Ultimately it is what you want, nothing less and nothing more. I would take the dog on a walk and/or run, depending on the mobility of your pet. And should you allow, exercises teaching a fetch, basic obedience, frisbee and/or ball play, in your back yard, or at a nearby dog park! It’s great mental stimulation for your pet!
