My dogs have always used an invisible fence but any visiting dogs will be on a leash unless told otherwise. Dogs typically get 5+ bathroom breaks a day and are encouraged to go outside for a good 10 minutes each time. Pets are allowed on the furniture and bed, because they’re considered family. Cats are typically left in the (finished/liveable) basement separate from the dogs, unless the cat wants to venture upstairs then be my guest.
