I intentionally keep openings in my schedule for walks, drop-in visits, boarding, and individualized care. I currently have availability most mornings, a few evenings, and select weekends which allows me to provide consistent attention and flexible scheduling for clients. Because I prioritize quality care and reliability, I carefully manage my schedule to make sure each pet receives plenty of time, attention, exercise, and communication while in my care.

Safety, trust & environment

believe every dog is different, so I focus heavily on each pet’s individual needs, personality, comfort level, and routine. Some dogs need lots of exercise and enrichment, while others need a calmer environment, patience, or extra reassurance while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client’s home or my own, I take time to learn their feeding schedule, potty routine, energy level, favorite activities, training expectations, and anything that helps them feel comfortable and secure. I adjust my care style based on the individual dog rather than taking a “one size fits all” approach. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, understood, and cared for while maintaining as much consistency and routine as possible.

Information Amanda J. would like to know about your pet

I think it’s important for owners to share information about their dog’s personality, routines, energy level, training background, vaccination status, gender, spay/neuter status, and how they interact with other dogs, strangers, and new environments ahead of time. The more I know about your dog’s individual needs and comfort level, the better I can provide a safe, positive, and personalized experience for both you and your pet.

A typical day

I love keeping dogs both mentally and physically engaged through activities that fit their individual personality, energy level, and comfort level. Depending on the dog, this may include structured walks, play sessions, enrichment activities, basic training games, confidence-building exercises, scent work, outdoor adventures, and relaxation time. For social dogs, I may also offer safe, structured socialization with my own pack. I always try to balance fun, exercise, mental stimulation, and rest so dogs feel fulfilled without becoming overwhelmed.

Pet care experience

I have a background in both education and dog training, so I focus heavily on structure, communication, and understanding each dog’s individual needs. I have experience working with dogs of all ages, energy levels, and personalities, including puppies, high-energy breeds, and dogs that benefit from extra patience or routine. I’m CPR certified, experienced with enrichment-based care, and comfortable reinforcing basic training skills such as leash manners, recall, sit/down, place, and calm behavior during visits and walks. I also have experience with hunting and working breeds, so I understand the importance of both physical exercise and mental stimulation. What sets me apart most is that I genuinely enjoy building trust and relationships with the dogs I care for. I prioritize safety, consistency, and making sure each dog feels comfortable, engaged, and well cared for while you’re away. I also provide reliable communication and updates so owners can feel confident their pets are in good hands.

I couldn’t recommend Amanda more as a dog sitter and trainer. She’s incredibly experienced, works with dogs professionally, and has three amazingly trained dogs of her own. I fully trust her with my pup - she always makes sure he gets plenty of attention and his energy out. she even taught him how to “stay” and “come”. Truly one of the best people you could leave your dog with.

My dog can definitely be a little high maintenance and requires extra attention, patience, and care, but Amanda handled everything so well and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She was communicative, reliable, and clearly genuinely cared about my dog’s comfort and routine. I could tell my dog was happy, well cared for, and getting lots of attention. It’s not easy finding someone you fully trust with your pet, especially one with extra needs, and I would absolutely book with Amanda again. Highly recommend!

Amanda has been excellent caring for my dogs over the years! Growing up, we swapped pets with neighbors when a family was on vacation, so I've never been able to board my dogs. I was concerned about them not being treated well, picking up a virus, or coming home with an upset stomach or injury. I'm glad I met Amanda over 12 years ago. She has a strong moral compass and she genuinely loves animals which gives me peace of mind when I'm gone for a long day or on vacation. Daisy, my first Boxer, loved Amanda. Daisy had a super sensitive stomach & needed a special diet which Amanda was diligent about. She got plenty of walks regardless of weather, lots of attention & after her cancer & chemo, Amanda made sure meds were given on time, did wound care as needed and Daisy experienced minimal stress, since she could stay at home with someone she was comfortable with. My rescue Rumple had a bad first chapter of his life and has been very hesitant around strangers. We're still training him after 2 years, and he's slowly learning not everything is a threat or scary. Rumple is content when Amanda is over to watch him. He doesn't growl at her when she comes in the house. She gives him his allergy shot if that lands on a day she's watching him. She has a great demeanor and allowed him to take his time getting to know her. Now she's one of his favorite people. I wholeheartedly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a terrific dog sitter. Thanks for being awesome!
