Pet care experience

Full-time homemaker and dog lover

I love dogs and have been taking care of them for over 20 years. I am a stay-at-home mom of 2 kids and we have a big fenced back yard. When we leave the house and at night, your dog will have access to food, water, and bedding in our gated laundry room. We have a fenced-off area where we keep quail and a rabbit (they primarily reside in a bird run/hutch inside the fenced area). Dogs will not be able to access this area, but will have roaming privileges in the rest of the yard. We also have two outdoor cats who roam the yard.

Amanda and her family were very friendly and caring to my dog who sometimes needs time to get used to a new environment and new people. Would definitely use again!

Mav loved staying with Amanda and her family. They kept him very active and made him feel very welcome in their home. She provided updates and pics of him to let us know how he was doing.

Schedule

I am a full-time mom to 2 young children in the home, so your pet will be able to roam free (no extended crating!) and be loved while he/she is in our home! I only take one client at a time, so your pet will have focused attention and supervision.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 cats
Children 6-12 years old
Dogs not allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog will have his/her own space in the laundry room for sleeping and eating. Plenty of time will be given outside in our fenced backyard for potty time, but your dog will not remain unsupervised for an extended period of time. Our home has lots of stairs outside and inside, so older dogs with mobility issues might have a harder time at our home. We have a fenced-off area where we keep quail and a rabbit (they primarily reside in a bird run/hutch inside the fenced area). Dogs will not be able to access this area, but will have roaming privileges in the rest of the yard. We also have two outdoor cats who roam the yard.

Pets

A typical day

My kids love to play fetch and tug-of-war and spend time with the dogs that visit our home. We are outside in the backyard whenever possible.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Takes only 1 client at a time
Amanda can host up to 1 pet per night
How and when medication is administered, what kind of food your dog eats and when they eat (specific times versus grazing, etc.). It is helpful to know if they have been an escape artist in the past (if they dig under fences or squeeze through small spaces, etc.). It is also helpful to know if they have been aggressive toward children or other animals (we have a bunny, two cats, and quail). We prefer to watch dogs who are crate-trained and are comfortable sleeping alone (i.e. won't whine through the night because they aren't sleeping in someone's bed).
