Pet care experience

You pet’s home away from home.

I got my first dog at the baby shower that was thrown for me, while my mom was still pregnant with me. He was born in February, and I was born in May. We spent 18 wonderful years together. Since then, I have owned, rescued, and cared for animals of all kinds; big and small. I love them, and they love me. In November of 2020, I lost my second Yorkie, Nina, and I thought I was finished with pets. I had loved them and welcomed them in my home for over 40 years at that point. But, in 2022, that changed, when I welcomed my sweet Willow Grace into my home.

We have had many pet sitters over the years and Amanda is by far the best! She gave wonderful, in-depth, daily updates of how our dog was doing using videos, pictures, and text. She went above and beyond taking care of his basic needs to use this opportunity to train him in areas he needed. We even learned some fun new things about him like his interest in watching dog TV. Haha Overall, I highly recommend her services!

I was very happy with the great care Amanda provided our dog. It’s apparent she truly loves dogs and was attentive in every way. My dog adjusted readily and enjoyed the week she spent with Amanda. I look forward to booking another stay.

Amanda was great with Sparky. He had such a good time playing with her Willow, and came home relaxed and happy. We would definitely book with Amanda again.

Amanda was FANTASTIC with my dog Dallas! She took the time to work with him and I’ve noticed such an improvement in his behavior after just a few days in her care. That is really impressive. She provided fantastic updates throughout my trip as well, so I always knew what Dallas was up to. I HIGHLY recommend Amanda!

Schedule

I’m a medically-retired educator, and I relocated here from California in 2021. In recent months, there have been some changes in my life, which have made my life a lot more solitary. And, while I don’t mind being at home with Willow, some days are just really quiet. I have the ability to plan my schedule any way I like it. I am in complete control of my schedule. If I have appointments during the day, they are minimal, and will always have me home within a reasonable amount of time. I’m home every evening to go to bed, and every morning to wake up. This is something that I am choosing to do at this stage and phase of my life because I believe that it will bring joy and fulfillment to me. If that changes, I have the ability to change course.

Safety, trust & environment

I’m open only for boarding animals in my home while their family is away. When an agreement is made that a pet will be staying with me in my home, they will be treated just like they were my own. I want them to feel safe and welcome here, loved here, and be excited to come back. Due to some of my own health limitations, we will discuss my plan of care before booking, so that families are comfortable with what I have to provide before they confirm their beloved pet’s stay. But, as mentioned above. I currently have a small dog, and I have extensive experience with animals, and so I would welcome your pet into my home and care for them as I do my own.

Pets

A typical day

The experience that I can offer your pets is an experience that is akin to being at home. I can offer them safety, comfort, continuity, love, companionship, and a place where they feel welcomed and look forward to returning to time and again. As with my own dog, I am not here to be the entertainment. That’s just not my specialty, nor my interest. And, due to some limitations of my own, personally, I’m not someone, who can go running, or be outside in the cold or heat for longer periods of time. I’m just a good pet Momma, and I’m willing to love yours.

Before we make an agreement on a stay, generally, I will like to do a “Meet and Greet” so all parties involved can get to know each other. It’s important for me to know if your animal has any conditions that I need to be aware of, any limitations, or anything like that. I want to know what you think will make your pet’s stay a success, as well as anything else that you feel is important for a good stay.
