Pet care is automatic for our family - we are out on hikes, dog parks, and other adventures daily. We are also cuddling, playing and training daily. During family sports practices, we can figure out if it works for your pets to stay home alone for a few hours or if they would like to come with us and play outside with Daisy and I! Our active, sweet therapy doodle gets daily physical and mental exercise (including agility training, scent work, dog parks, swimming, frisbee, catching thrown balls, puzzles, and helping to train other pets or performing mascot duty for our lacrosse teams). She is almost always with us and can sometimes stay with other family members if your pet needs more 1:1 time. Daisy is curious about but respectful of other pets. She’s gentle with smaller or senior dogs and she can match the energy of puppies and other active breeds. With cats, she has learned - via her cat aunts and uncles - to follow the lead of a cat's levels of comfort with her. Let me know ahead of time if your dog experiences separation anxiety so we can make a plan! We have a pet friendly vehicle with safety belts for pups who are allowed to come along on adventures! (Mom’s Taxi Service, anyone?) 🥳

At our Meet and Greet, I like to learn your usual routine and understand your expectations. Re: dog parks, we have taken pups jogging instead of visiting a dog park until we get to know them better. Each pet is different - and behaviors sometimes vary when owners are away. We can bring agility equipment and play in your backyard or use a 50 foot lead to work on recall at a park nearby. I love taking walks and they can be fast or slow. Some pets enjoy playing tug or doing scent games inside or out! I'm also knowledgeable about crate training and can accommodate your requirements there. I often walk with bits of plain chicken (for training) or bring along a buddy to play with (see the previous section for info about our poodle/heeler/border collie mix). For cats, we've worked with clients who are completely indoor and we are accustomed to keeping a keen eye on escape artists. Occasional boarding at our home: please ask. Most of our outside time is long walks, hiking (around lakes in Camas) and nearby dog parks. We also have a doggie pool and sprinkler to play in on hot days.
Information Amanda H. would like to know about your pet
I'd love to set up a Meet and Greet so that we can get to know each other ahead of time. What is your pet's typical routine currently and how can I set your mind at ease in leaving your best friend(s) in my care? What are your pet's favorite activities, toys and foods. Are they food motivated or ? Do they get scared by loud noises or have any other triggers? Are they friendly with children - although I'm sure we'll move to the other side of the road on most walks anyway. Anything else you'd like me to know?
A typical day
For a typical day, I'd like to know your usual schedule and go from there. Again, I love playing all kinds of games and find most dogs enjoy mental and physical exercise - at all different paces. I can bring a few agility pieces with me, we can play tug, practice scent work or work through treat puzzles. I'd start with a familiar walking path and then mix it up for your pet's entertainment! Some dogs just want to play fetch for an hour straight and get cuddles afterwards.

Mom & teen care for fur babies!
Pet care experience
We are a trio: mom, teen and our very well trained doodle mix. So far, this has been working out well! We’re happy to sleep in separate rooms if needed to give the fur babies a break. We collaborate to give individualized care to each member of your family. This ensures that your fur babies have lots of love, fun, and cuddles while you are away! We've served many different clients via Rover and previous to that, around our neighborhood. This includes dog walking (jogging), training, and dog/cat/house sitting. Sometimes, one of us is supervising in the small dog side of the park while the other is throwing balls for the larger pups. Or one of us is reading on the couch getting cat cuddles while the other is playing frisbee in the backyard. We studied with Zack George (positive reinforcement) Dog Training and our ESA/therapy dog is now 5 years old. She's a mix of half-Poodle and half Border Collie/Heeler. She goes almost everywhere with us (except to Meet and Greets - we prefer to assess your needs first). Daisy has even helped me teach a few "city" dogs how to swim! I grew up with every kind of pet you can think of and worked in a Pet Store while in university. I was practically inseparable from my German Shepherd/Husky mix and little gray cat. I slept with my kitty on my pillow and dog at my feet.

Reviews
Amanda, Sav and Daisy were incredible companions for our dog, Waffles. They all made sure Waffles was spoiled, giving her lots of exercise, treats and cuddles. Our house was very clean and taken care of. Amanda was very communicative and accommodating. I would certainly recommend!

Amanda was amazing! She is truly a dog whisperer. Her dog, Daisy, is also lovely and was an important asset to keep our pup happy and occupied. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Amanda was so good with my puppy and diligent about his schedule and instructions. She left the house very clean too. Thanks, Amanda!

Amanda was a fantastic house sitter and took amazing care of our dog while we were away. She was responsible, respectful, and left the house spotless. Amanda kept us updated with messages and pictures, which gave us great peace of mind. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!
