Pet care experience
Professional, experienced dog mom!
I have 5+ years experience working in the Veterinary field & have plenty of experience with cats and dogs of all ages, shapes & sizes. I have volunteered with various animal shelters & rescues over the past 20+ years. I recently relocated back to FL from CO. I was a volunteer dog walker & foster parent for Foothills Animal Shelter in CO for the past 3 years. I have also worked as an adoption counselor at an SPCA in Florida in my past. I am currently working for a medical office which means Mondays - Thursdays, I leave my home at 8am and I return home at 4:30pm which I understand isn't ideal for all pets. On Fridays I leave at 8am and return home at 1:00 pm. I am off on weekends. Most of my Rover pups tend to stay from Thursday pm through the weekend. I am always happy to work out a plan with you to best fit both of our schedules. I am without any pets at this time therefore pet-sitting is something I am available to do! My 15 1/2 year old hound dog lived a long life of adventure but she passed in March of 2023. Caring for her in her elder years is what has given me a soft spot for the senior pets. Following her passing, we fostered (and kept) a big headed pittie boy who sadly didn't get more than a year with us. He was diagnosed with cancer this past April. He was given a very heartbreaking diagnosis and unfortunately we lost him just weeks later. I am an advocate for pet adoption/rescue which is why I give so much of my time to helping those who are looking for their forever home. I would treat your pet(s) as if it were my own and just how I would expect a pet sitter to treat one of my animals. On several occasions when I was still living in CO, I had several friends in FL who would fly me out to watch their animals when they would take longer trips! I believe it's important for you to know that I would never ignore any signs of distress your pet may be in and would contact you immediately with any concerns. Additionally, I am always happy to check in with you with a photo or quick update so you know your pet has been taken care of. I would describe myself as being responsible, reliable, timely, & of course, kind & attentive towards your beloved pet. Your pet would never be left alone for hours on end! I am happy to openly discuss my schedule with you based on your requested dates of stay. Graduate of Fear Free Shelters Program

Amanda was great and would trust her with our dog anytime!

Amanda was great and took great care of Pablo!

Amanda was great! We did a meet and greet before and felt very comfortable boarding our dogs with her. She sent us daily updates and pictures about their stay. This was the first time my dogs were watched by someone other than family and I would trust rebooking with her in the future. I would definitely recommend!

Amanda was great!! She gave updates and pictures while I was away. Made sure to tailor her routine and needs to Dolly’s needs. My dog has some triggers and she made sure to stay alert while watching and walking Dolly.

Amanda always takes my pup on adventures and sends me pictures. She does really well with making sure she’s safe and having a good time! Excited for our next stay!

Amanda was absolutely amazing. Took photos and kept me updated on Apollo activities. I would recommend her for anything involving your fur babies. This was during the weather events here in Florida and she handled them perfectly. All I can say is Thank you for all you did.

Schedule
As mentioned in my bio, I also am currently without pets of my own with allows your pet to have my full attention! I was previously working from home which allowed for more pet sitting but recently my job role has changed which has me working 7.5 hours M-Thr. Friday I only work from 8:30-1, and off on the weekends. For this reason, most of my dogs tend to do long weekends; dropping off on Thursday evening and picking up on Sunday evenings or Monday mornings. I am always happy to work with you on pick up/drop off times that best fit each of our schedules.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I have volunteered with animals for years therefore, security and safety are a huge part of my animal care whether in your home or in my own. I also lived with a nosey hound dog for 15 years therefore, nothing is ever left around that an animal might potentially want to eat! No doors are ever left unlocked or unsecured! My house plants are all placed high up, off the ground as my hound used to try to eat them. They are no different than a curious child to me. If you have ever lived with a hound, you probably understand how extra cautious I am as a pet sitter! I am experienced with puppies, seniors, reactive animals, administering medications, etc. I am not one to leave an animal outside without supervision. I have a great attention to detail and would always ensure your pet is safe & secure before leaving my home. I sadly no longer have a backyard but I live on a dead end so it stays quiet here. Nice shady areas to walk. Very safe and not many dogs in the general area from what I have gathered. * My home is 2 miles from two 24 hour pet emergency rooms. A typical day
Open to doing whatever your pet enjoys so please tell me everything! When you are away, it’s best for them to feel comfortable in their routine. I am happy to just walk them locally or if you're open to them walking at a nearby park or even the beach, I am happy to take them on a little road trip. I always use a dog seatbelt when driving and there would never be any off leash activity. You delegate what your pet is and isn't allowed to do and I will happily follow your instruction.
