When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines and preferences while maintaining balance and structure to stay consistent and reduce stress.

Information Amanda F. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your pet, it’s important for me to know the following to ensure I can provide the best possible care: Temperament and Behavior: Does your pet have any reactivity, fear, or anxiety around certain people, animals, or situations? Are they shy, outgoing, or have any specific triggers I should be aware of? Health and Medical Needs: Are there any existing medical conditions, medications, or dietary restrictions I need to know about? Do they require special care, such as assistance with mobility? Routine and Preferences: What is your pet’s daily routine like? Are there specific feeding times, bathroom schedules, or activity preferences I should follow? Do they prefer certain toys, games, or spots in the house? Training and Commands: Are there any specific commands or behaviors I should reinforce or avoid? What level of training have they had, and are they comfortable with things like leash walking (if applicable) Socialization: How does your pet interact with other animals, children, or strangers? Do they need time to adjust to new environments or people, or are they more social and confident? Emergency Procedures: Do you have any emergency contact information, such as your vet’s number, or an alternative contact in case of an emergency? The more I know about your pet’s habits, preferences, and needs, the better care I can provide. Communication is key to making sure they feel safe, happy, and well-cared for!

Pet care experience

What sets me apart from other sitters is my diverse and hands-on experience with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and skill levels. With three years of experience in pet retail, I’ve developed a deep understanding of dog behavior and the products that best suit their needs. I’ve also worked closely with dog trainers and walkers, gaining specialized experience in handling reactive and aggressive dogs with defensive handling techniques. In addition to my expertise with senior dogs, puppies, and pullers, I’ve been actively involved in dog sports like agility, barn hunt, lure courses, scent work, canicross, rally obedience, and conformation. This gives me a unique ability to tailor activities to your dog’s energy levels, whether they need a calm walk or an engaging training session. Whether you're looking for someone to provide gentle care for a senior dog or a high-energy workout for a sporty pup, I can ensure your dog feels safe, stimulated, and well-loved. I work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments—including reactive and aggressive dogs. I’ve had great success helping dogs integrate into group walks, with many positive outcomes to show for it.
