Pet care experience

Safe, Happy, Loved

For the past seven years, I had the privilege of sharing my life with my dog, Agatha, whom I adopted when she was around seven years old. She recently passed away at an estimated 14 years old after battling cancer. Caring for Agatha, especially during the last few months of her life, taught me patience, compassion, and how to meet a dog exactly where they are. As she got older, she needed more hands-on support. Whether it was helping her stand, carrying her when her body wouldn't cooperate (all 55 pounds of her!), or hand-feeding her because that's how she was most comfortable, I learned that every dog has unique needs and deserves care that respects their personality. Agatha was fiercely independent, so I always tried to give her as much dignity and choice as possible while making sure she felt safe and loved. While I'm not ready to adopt another dog just yet, I truly miss having one in my life. That's what brought me to Rover. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet, whether they enjoy long walks, playtime, or simply having a calm companion nearby. I live in an apartment with easy access to outdoor walking paths, sidewalks, and a nearby dog park, making it easy to provide plenty of exercise, fresh air, and opportunities to explore. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, cared for, and at home while you're away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they're in loving hands.

Amanda was great! Kept us up to date, sent photos, took on our large and reactive dog with empathy and kindness

Amanda is absolutely wonderful. Treated my pup like a prince and stayed in touch sending updates and videos. So glad we found her. My only hesitation in leaving this review is that once others know how great she is, she won’t have availability for my dog :)

We had an outstanding experience with Amanda! She watched our Scottie Bella while we were out of town. Bella immediately was excited to see her and Amanda was very warm and knowledgeable about dogs. She sent us photos and videos of Bella and asked questions appropriately. I highly recommend her.

Amanda was incredible with my intense boxer puppy. She was calm and loving and did a great job watching over our boy. He had a blast and slept most of the next day. Thank you Mandy! You are always welcome in our home.

Mandy was an amazing dog mom to Agatha, her sweet rescue who recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Mandy treated Agatha like a queen - she had plenty of attention, toys, and treats - and saw her as part of her family.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Amanda for over 30 years. She is one of the most responsible, kind, resourceful and respectful individuals I’ve known. Her love for all animals, specifically dogs, is above and beyond. Her sweet pup Agatha was the light of Amanda’s life, and she will treat everyone’s fur babies with the gentlest loving care. Amanda is a business owner who contributes much to her community and would be an absolute asset to the rover team.

Schedule

I own a local fitness studio, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to plan my day around the pets in my care. Most weekdays, I'm available between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. for walks, drop-in visits, or spending quality time with pets. My mornings typically begin around 8:00 a.m., and I'm at my studio from approximately 9:00–11:00 a.m. and again from 4:00–7:00 p.m. Because I have flexibility throughout the day, I can provide regular potty breaks, exercise, meals, and companionship. Whether your pet enjoys an active walk, playtime, or simply relaxing with someone nearby, I'll make sure they receive attentive, personalized care while you're away.

Safety, trust & environment

I know that every pet is different, so my first priority is getting to know your dog's routine, personality, and any special needs before their stay or visit. I'll follow your instructions closely, whether that's feeding schedules, medications, favorite walking routes, or little routines that help your pet feel comfortable. In my home, pets will have a clean, calm environment with plenty of attention, fresh water, potty breaks, exercise, and a comfortable place to rest. I live in an apartment with easy access to sidewalks, green space, and a nearby dog park for dogs who enjoy socializing (only with your permission). If I'm caring for your pet in your home, I'll treat your home with the same respect I would my own while keeping your pet's routine as consistent as possible. I'll also provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy and well cared for. Above all, my goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away.
