I want to make your dog feel like it is just at home! I am typically out of the home between 9-4, but will plan to accommodate midday walks by working at home or keeping my schedule flexible when caring for your pet. If we are out and about at a pet friendly event and your pet has a tolerance for it, we would love to take them along and have them enjoy new experiences! We took our chihuahua on many road trips and even on a month long trip to Mexico so love to have our pet along side us whenever possible. I walk 3 miles 3-4x week and would love to have a walking buddy!

I am open to crated or uncrated dogs and will do my best to make your best friend feel like they are not just our best friend, but a part of our family. We do not have a fenced in yard, but we live right on a path for easy and often walks and if you feel safe with your dog on our deck, we often will leave the door open while we are home for it to come and go to get a little outside time. We are also willing to use a lead in the yard if it is something your dog is used to. We love dogs of all sizes and ages are understand the importance of accommodating your requests around care, feeding, medication, play, etc. We do ask that your pet is comfortable on wood floors and also is okay walking leashed on a path where there are other walkers and dogs.

Any information about your pet that is important for you to share with us, please do. Please share if you are comfortable with the dog being on our closed deck that is not a full story up so near to the ground (I don't want any escapees!). II also would like to know how well it walks on a leash and if you are comfortable with a 10 year-old holding the leash while supervised? Are you okay with us going to an off leash dog park? Are you okay with us taking your pet on a boat?
A typical day
I like to let the dogs that are with us take the lead! I understand that different dogs have different needs, tolerances and preferences and want to meet your pet where it is. The ideal dog guest likes walks, plays fetch and still wants to cuddle on the couch.

Our Best Friend Too!
Pet care experience
Our family loves dogs and recently lost our long time chihuahua. I cannot take on a new pet right now, but I want to expand our "family" of dogs and get our dog fix while helping you out. I have experience in caring for dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments. I grew up with a great dane... but also love and miss our 10 lb chihuahua and appreciate the needs of smaller dogs. I enjoy the spirit of adolescent dogs/puppies while maintain the patience for the needs of aging pups. I have a pet free household, but have a dog loving 10-year-old son who loves having animals around is looking forward to walks, fetch, and cuddles (giving and receiving!)

Amanda and her family are the best! They take such good care of our dog and it’s so nice not having to worry while we’re out of town. Our dog is always so excited to go visit them!
Amanda and her family provided a safe, loving and adventure- filled stay for our pup (pontooning on the lake!). We know our pup had a great time as she’s been sleeping a lot since her “vacation”!!
Amanda and family were great! Our pup was well taken care of! We will use again when we need a dog sitter!
