Aside from my UNI teaching, my schedule is super flexible and I will adjust my routine as necessary. Generally, my cats actually have a set routine of (demanding) waking me up at 5:30am, dinner at 6, and bedtime snacks at 10pm.

In or out of my home I pretty much arrange myself around the pets I’m caring for. If that means staying over at your house, I’m packing a bag.

Information Amanda B. would like to know about your pet
It’s always nice to know the dog’s personality a bit so I can make their stay more comfortable. If they have a special diet or allergies, that’s very important.
A typical day
I have a nice yard at my house, and a Honda Element (aka the best dog car) so we can always head to a dog park! Frisbee? Throwing a ball? Tug of war? Every dog has their own favorite game. If a dog needs more full time attention, they’re more than welcome to come to my studio with me and hang out while I make art. I keep some snacks there for doggie guests, and my friend Zoe has spent a lot of time being my studio puppy. She loves going for walks on campus and saying hi to all the people.

Pet care experience
I grew up on a farm with cats, dogs, ducks, and all sorts of other furry and feathered creatures thinking of becoming a veterinarian. I even worked as a vet tech for four years. I’ve cared for elderly pets, diabetic and epileptic, and can make friends with even the crankiest cat or most skittish pup. As an adult, I’ve lived with a retired racing greyhound named Clock, fostered kittens, rescued several long-term elderly shelter cats, and most recently adopted a pair of kittens when my cat of 14 years passed. They love dogs, but can also live quietly in the bedroom if need be. Your pet becomes one of mine for the duration we are together. They are loved and treated with the same care and affection as my own pets. Some dogs get anxious and don’t like to eat their first meal away from their people- I keep things like chicken broth and peanut butter to help entice them to get that nutrition!
Reviews

Amanda is reliable and trustworthy.

I wasn't at all satisfied. My security cameras on the back of my house and the front of my garage give me an accurate picture of how my dogs were treated. Amanda was hired as a house sitter and instructions clearly stated that my 14 year old dog needed to be let out every 2 hours and my 5 month old puppy would need to be let out at least every 4 hours. She was away a fair amount of the time and the dogs had very limited time outside. I was so dissatisfied that I cancelled service with her through Rover Support Team. A friend was able to go over and take care of the dogs until I got home. She found a large puddle of urine on the floor from the house trained pup who had been left inside too long. Instructions were to have a belly band on my 14 year old when he was in the house. Because of her long absences the 14 year old wore a wet belly band for an extended time and developed a rash on his belly. I was extremely unhappy about the treatment my dogs received and consider it tantamount to animal abuse. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Amanda was punctual professional and very sweet to my fur baby. Josie loved her. She gave Josie her meals and her medicines as directed and took excellent care of her. I would highly recommend Amanda to anyone who needs a dog sitter or overnight house sitter

Once again Amanda did a great job watching my pets and the house! She always makes sure they have fresh water, their litter boxes are clean, and I know they are well taken care of while I am gone. She's the best!
