Pet care experience

I treat every pup like my own!

Hi there! I'm an experienced foster dog mom with a special place in my heart for dogs who need a little extra patience and TLC, including seniors, and dogs who've come from abuse, neglect, or abandonment. I volunteer with a rescue that specializes in exactly these cases, so I'm comfortable with the extra care, gentleness, and routine that these pups often need to feel safe. After 14+ years with my own best friend by my side, I'm not ready to adopt again, but I am more than ready to pour that same love and attention into caring for other people's dogs. I treat every dog in my care exactly like my own, with patience, consistency, and a whole lot of affection. If people had the same heart and loyalty that dogs do, the world would be a better place. I'd love to help take care of yours.

Amanda was wonderful! Mulan is pretty shy and slow to warm up to new people, but Amanda was very patient and gentle so Mulan was relaxed and having a good time. Highly recommend.

I had a wonderful experience and will definitely book with Amanda again. She treated my Coco like her own, kept me updated with plenty of photos, and even had the sweetest little nicknames for her. It was obvious my dog was well cared for, happy, and loved. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

This is our second time leaving our dog, Yuna, with Amanda. Yuna settled in even faster this time around and seemed quite comfortable at Amanda's place. Amanda is very accommodating and receiving pictures and a daily update every day was very comforting to me.

Amanda was great with our dog. She went over all our information with us, when we dropped the dog off. Then sent updates daily along with pics. Our dog had an upset stomach one day, and she texted us with some options. Since she only sets one dog at a time, we felt she gave wonderful attention to our gitl, with walks at the park right across the street. Her home was very spacious and clean.

Schedule

I work from home with a flexible schedule, so I'm present and available throughout the day rather than leaving pets alone for long stretches. I follow your pet's existing feeding and walking schedule while they're with me, so their routine stays consistent. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and the bed, honestly, it was my dog's house and he just let me live in it, so your pup will feel right at home. For boarding, I only host one dog at a time (or two if they're from the same household), so your pup always gets my full, undivided attention. I send regular photos and updates so you always know how they're doing.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in an apartment with a small fenced yard that's visible from inside, though I'm always outside with pets during yard time, never leaving them unsupervised. Beyond that, I'm happy to take dogs on regular walks throughout the day, tailored to whatever schedule and pace they're used to. I'm in a great area with lots of green space nearby, and there's a dog park close by too, if owners are comfortable with their pup socializing there. Safety is always a priority for me. I make sure gates and doors are secure, keep a close eye on pets during outdoor time, and treat every home, whether it's mine or yours, with the same care and attention I'd want for my own pet.

A typical day

A typical day includes plenty of walks and time to explore, my community has lots of green space and exciting new smells for pups to sniff out. We'll fit in playtime with toys throughout the day, along with plenty of cuddle time and relaxing together (dogs are welcome on the furniture and the bed!). For naps and downtime, I have a medium sized crate and cozy dog beds available if your pup prefers their own space.

Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only

Amanda can host up to 1 pet per night
Before your pup stays with me, it's helpful to know their feeding schedule, where they normally sleep at night, and whether they take any medications or have special needs I should be aware of. The more I know about their normal routine, the more comfortable and at home they'll feel with me.
