Hi there! We’re Amanda and Austen, a couple based in Scarborough with a dog of our own (our Mini Aussie, Mazie) and a lot of love to share with yours. When Amanda’s not caring for her sweet group of five-year-olds or Austen’s not out playing tennis, we’re spending time with Mazie, chasing seagulls at the beach, hiking in the mountains, or snuggling up on the couch after a snowy play session. We love active days just as much as laid-back ones, and we’re happy to match whatever energy your pup brings. We both grew up in homes with animals- at one point, Amanda had five dogs and a cat! We have cared for dogs of all breeds and energy levels, from teacup-size rescues to large-breed couch potatoes, plus plenty of other animals over the years (including Sparkles the Bearded Dragon, Amanda’s current classroom pet). We live in a quiet neighborhood with a fully fenced-in backyard that dogs love to explore. Austen works from home full-time, so your pup will get plenty of attention throughout the day, and we share responsibilities depending on the care your pet needs. Whether it’s a weekend adventure, daily daycare, or a cozy overnight stay, we’re here to make your dog feel happy, safe, and loved.

Amanda and Austen took wonderful care of our sheepadoodle. She was very happy at their place, got a lot of outdoor time, playtime with their dog Maizie, love and attention. Their place is lovely with easy access for the dog to a fenced backyard. We also got reports and photos of our dog during her stay. Highly recommend Austen and Annie as excellent, caring sitters.
Amanda and Austen and Mazie were perfect caregivers for our skittish 8 year old terrier mix. They gave her the space she needed to get comfortable enough to cuddle and play. We think Roxy has been looking to our garage for a ride back to see her new friends.
Amanda & Austen were very communicative and great with our dog, Gus! They exercised him and provided multiple updates.
Amanda and Austin did a wonderful job taking care of my pup. Lots of play time in the yard with photos and updates. I could tell when I picked up Meadow that she was glowing and content. Very grateful for the care 😊🌸🌸🌸
We had such a wonderful experience with Austen and Amanda! They were incredibly accommodating and took the time to consider all the different needs of my pugs. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing each dog was cared for individually with so much attention, patience, and kindness. They even took my two youngest pugs, who are able to walk comfortably, on walks around the neighborhood, which they absolutely loved. It’s clear they genuinely care about the dogs they watch and treat them like family. I would highly recommend Austen and Amanda to anyone looking for caring, reliable, and attentive dog sitters!

Schedule
We offer care throughout the week and are happy to accommodate weekends, holidays, and special requests as our schedule allows. Austen works from home and provides consistent weekday care and supervision, while Amanda handles most weekend walks, drop-ins, and house sitting when needed. Between the two of us, your pet will never go long without company, playtime, or a potty break. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a last-minute trip, we’ll work with you to make sure your pup is happy and cared for. Our day care rate is based on an 8 hour day. We're happy to have your dog with us for longer, but we may ask for an additional fee based on the number of hours.

We know how important it is to trust someone with your pet. That’s why we always begin with a meet-and-greet to ensure your dog is comfortable with us, and you’re confident in the care we provide. We take a gentle, respectful approach, especially with shy or anxious dogs, and we’ll always ask for your guidance on what makes your pup feel safe and secure. Whether we’re in your home or ours, we want to provide a low-stress, enriching environment with plenty of attention, structure, and love. We’re also happy to provide regular updates (with photos!) and check-ins during every visit or stay, so you’re always in the loop - because we’d want the same from someone watching Mazie.
Pets
A typical day
Your dog’s day will include walks, outdoor time in our fully fenced yard, and lots of interaction throughout the day. We do our best to stick to your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible and make sure they get the attention, activity, and downtime they need. On weekends, we love to take our dog Mazie on adventures like beach runs or mountain hikes, and we’d be happy to bring your dog along with your permission. Indoors, we’ve got a variety of toys, enrichment games, and puzzle feeders to keep your pup mentally engaged and happy. Whether they’re high energy or lowkey, we’ll tailor the day to your dog’s needs and routine.
