I split my time between the eastern side of the metro and Western Wisconsin. My day job hours are flexible in the summer and often work remote, which leaves me more opportunities for house and pet sitting. I sometimes have my two teenage sons stay with me that love animals and are kind and respectful. Depending on your comfort level, I sometimes work as a team with my boyfriend and his service dog. His service dog gets along with other dogs. My boyfriend is also on Rover and trains dogs. We all would be more than happy to do a meet and greet to see if you were open to these visitors.

I believe in basic trust and honesty, and making you and your pet as comfortable as possible. I am a good communicator that can follow a plan, but that is also flexible and adaptable to the needs of a pet or family. I like to make sure that everyone is on the same page with expectations and daily communication when caring for your pet or home. Something that carries over from my nursing background is I will leave you a detailed log of what happened while your beloved pet(s) were in my care, to give an extra layer of peace of mind.

I have preference for dogs that are ok with older kids and other dogs. But, if your pet (or you) are not comfortable with those things, it's not a deal breaker. Feel free to reach out either way!

A typical day during the week will likely look a lot like your typical work week :) Your pet will get lots of love and attention while I am at your home, be fed on time, lots of pets and cuddles (if that's their thing), potty breaks, go for a walk if time and weather allow and have no problem with a pet wanting to share the bed or be near me while sleeping (and again if it's their thing). I will do my best to give them what they're used to, but like when a kid goes to Grandma's house, a little extra fun and love while mom and dad are on vacation.

I grew up on a farm and helped take care of animals since as far back as I can remember. I have done various pet sitting and house sitting jobs over the years, a roommate with a dog and I have my own cat. I am comfortable in the city and the country. Pet owners have commented many times that their pet warms up to me faster than other people. I am a nurse during the day, so it is in my nature to pay attention to details and be a caregiver of both the human and furry variety.

We loved Amanda! She was great with our hound and was incredibly conscientious with taking care of the house and the dog. She left detailed notes about their day to day activities and sent lots of fun photos. She was great about keeping in touch regarding her schedule and asked questions when needed. We returned from our trip to a clean house and a happy pup. We would love to have Amanda back again.
Amanda did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs. She kept us updated throughout the stay with texts and photos and she kept detailed notes of everything that happened. She left the pages of notes on the counter so we could review them when we got home. One thing that really stood out was how attentive she was to our dog who was having trouble eating. Amanda went above and beyond by patiently feeding her by hand to make sure she got the food she needed. That level of care and dedication meant a lot to us. It’s clear that Amanda generally cares about the pets she looks after. Our pups were in great hands and we’d be happy to have her watch them again.
Amanda went beyond the call of duty caring for our two dogs, who are quite comfortable at home but had never been watched by a stranger for an extended period of time (18 days). Both dogs took right to Amanda. She supplied text and photo updates throughout our time away. She followed instructions to the letter and didn't hesitate to ask questions or suggest an idea if it came up. The house was spotless when we got back, and the dogs were happy. There's no question we'll seek out Amanda again if the need arises. We don't think you'll find a better sitter.
Amanda was absolutely wonderful with Milo and Bentley while staying in our home for 8 days over the holidays. Her communication was excellent — she checked in frequently and sent regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She followed all of our instructions, took the dogs on multiple walks, and clearly gave them a lot of care and attention. She was also incredibly respectful of our home and left it cleaner than when we left. On top of that, she went above and beyond by shoveling the driveway during a snowstorm — something we truly appreciated coming home to. We would highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring in-home dog sitter. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again!
