Pet care experience

Farm Kid, City Life

I grew up on a farm and helped take care of animals since as far back as I can remember. I have done various pet sitting and house sitting jobs over the years, live with a dog and puppy, and I had my own cat for a decade. I am comfortable in the city and the country. Pet owners have commented many times that their pet warms up to me faster than other people. I am a nurse during the day, so it is in my nature to pay attention to details and be a caregiver of both the human and furry variety.

Safety, trust & environment

I believe in basic trust and honesty, and making you and your pet as comfortable as possible. I am a good communicator that can follow a plan, but that is also flexible and adaptable to the needs of a pet or family. I like to make sure that everyone is on the same page with expectations and daily communication when caring for your pet or home. Something that carries over from my nursing background is I will leave you a detailed log of what happened while your beloved pet(s) were in my care, to give an extra layer of peace of mind.

Amanda has watched Charlotte 3 times and has always done an amazing job. She leaves handwritten notes about everything that happens while we're gone and Charlotte loves her. We highly recommend Amanda.

Amanda did a fantastic job watching Charlotte again. She regularly provides updates and photos showing our pup having a great time. Amanda goes above and beyond our requests and always leaves detailed notes about how the stay went. I highly recommend her.

Amanda did a wonderful job taking care of my beloved Ollie. She is a great communicator, sending updates throughout her stay, she even took daily notes on what happened each day. I came home to a happy cat, and a clean house. I would definitely recommend Amanda. Thank you!

We loved Amanda! She was great with our hound and was incredibly conscientious with taking care of the house and the dog. She left detailed notes about their day to day activities and sent lots of fun photos. She was great about keeping in touch regarding her schedule and asked questions when needed. We returned from our trip to a clean house and a happy pup. We would love to have Amanda back again.

Amanda did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs. She kept us updated throughout the stay with texts and photos and she kept detailed notes of everything that happened. She left the pages of notes on the counter so we could review them when we got home. One thing that really stood out was how attentive she was to our dog who was having trouble eating. Amanda went above and beyond by patiently feeding her by hand to make sure she got the food she needed. That level of care and dedication meant a lot to us. It’s clear that Amanda generally cares about the pets she looks after. Our pups were in great hands and we’d be happy to have her watch them again.

Schedule

I split my time between Eastern MN and Northwestern WI, but primarily live in WI. My daytime job is visit nursing, which means my days, hours, and what area I work in can fluctuate within the area. I often work as a team with my boyfriend, his service dog, and the puppy we are training to be a service dog (both get along well with other dogs). We both are highly experienced house and pet sitters and he is especially good at helping anxious or higher needs dogs - he is also on Rover and trains dogs. We all would be more than happy to do a meet and greet to see if you were open to these visitors.

I have preference for dogs that are ok with other dogs. But, if your pet (or you) are not comfortable with that, it's not a deal breaker. Feel free to reach out either way!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
