Whether it’s dog walking, drop-in visits, or overnight stays, I make sure each pet gets the love and attention they deserve. Before caring for any pet, I like to learn as much as I can to make sure they’re comfortable and safe. Here are some key things I always ask: 🐾 Personality & Routine • Are they shy, energetic, anxious, or playful? • Do they have a daily routine I should follow (walks, feeding times, bedtime)? • Are there certain commands they respond to? 🥎 Likes & Dislikes • Favorite toys or games? • Are there things that stress them out (storms, loud noises, other dogs)? • Do they prefer alone time or lots of attention? 🐶 Behavior Around Others • How do they react to new people, kids, or other animals? • Are there any leash reactivity or aggression triggers I should be aware of? 🍗 Feeding & Treats • Any allergies or dietary restrictions? • When and how much do they eat? • Are treats okay—and if so, what kind? 💊 Medical Info • Do they take any medications or have medical conditions? • Vet contact info in case of emergency 🚪 House Rules • Are pets allowed on furniture? • Any rooms that are off-limits? • How do you handle crate time or alone time?
A typical day
Every pet is unique, so I tailor activities to their age, energy level, and personality—but here are some of my go-to favorites: 🦴 Playtime • Fetch, tug-of-war, or hide-and-seek (with toys or treats!) • Puzzle toys or treat-dispensing games for mental stimulation 🐕 Walks & Adventures • Leash walks with lots of sniff breaks (great for mental stimulation!) • If allowed, neighborhood strolls, park visits, or shaded trail walks • For older dogs, slower “sniffari” walks at their own pace 🛁 Pampered Downtime • Belly rubs and brushing (if they enjoy it!) • Snuggles and companionship on the couch or floor • Soothing music or calm enrichment time for anxious or senior pets 🐾 Routine & Comfort • Sticking closely to their feeding, walking, and bedtime schedule • Using familiar toys, phrases, and routines to help them feel safe and happy • Sending photo updates to owners so they can see the fun too!

My passion for pet care started early—I grew up with two Miniature Australian Shepherds who taught me just how much love, energy, and attention dogs need to thrive. Since then, I’ve worked with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages, from spunky puppies to mellow seniors, and everything in between. Whether it’s an energetic walk, a calm overnight stay, or just some extra snuggles, I adapt to each dog’s unique personality and needs. I treat every pup like family, and pet parents trust me for both my reliability and the genuine care I bring to every visit.

I can't recommend my daughter highly enough for anyone looking for a caring, responsible, and trustworthy dog walker or dog sitter for overnights. Alyssa had 2 Miniature Australian Shephard's while she was growing up, so she is very used to some high energy dogs. Our friends who have had her dog sit would also call her the "dog whisper" as their dogs just LOVE her! Alyssa is reliable, patient, and very attentive to the unique needs of each dog. Whether it is with high energy pups or older dogs who need just some extra love - she is there for them!! Your pet will be loved, safe, and well cared for each and every step of the way.
