Pet care experience
Patient pet care at their pace🐾
I’ve been around animals for most of my life and love getting to know each pet’s individual personality. I grew up with a Lhasa Apso for 14 years and became her primary caretaker during her senior years, giving me firsthand experience caring for an older pup and adapting to her changing needs. I’ve also fostered both dogs and cats, including a Schnauzer/Poodle mix and a young cat with medical needs. While fostering, I’ve administered medication, supported recovery, and adapted enrichment activities to keep pets comfortable and engaged throughout different stages of healing. I also have volunteer experience caring for cats and understand the importance of reading an animal’s body language and respecting their boundaries. I’m happy to give an outgoing pet plenty of attention and affection, but I’m equally comfortable giving a shy or cautious pet the space and patience they need to feel safe around me. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes, as well as cats, puppies, and senior pets. Above all, I want your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away.

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I want pets to feel safe and comfortable in their own space, so I follow each owner’s instructions and their pet’s established routine as closely as possible. I pay attention to body language, respect boundaries, and never force interaction with a pet who needs some space or time to warm up. I’ll keep their environment clean and tidy, make sure they have fresh food and water as instructed, and provide walks, playtime, enrichment, cuddles, or quiet company based on what they enjoy. I’m also comfortable administering medications when needed.
Ratings and reviews
Alyssa has a big heart and is truly passionate about the care she provides for her dogs. When she cared for our beloved dog Sandy, Sandy knew she was loved and cherished and EVERY need she had was met in spades. I never had to worry about Sandy when I knew Alyssa was protecting her and keeping her safe while having fun, too.

Schedule
I currently have a flexible schedule, which gives me plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting throughout the week. I’m happy to work with your pet’s usual routine as much as possible, including their normal feeding, potty, walking, playtime, and medication schedules.
- Cats0 to 15 lbs16 to 40 lbs41 to 100 lbsAlyssa can host up to 2 drop-ins per day
- I’d love to know about your pet’s normal routine, personality, favorite activities, feeding schedule, medications or medical needs, and anything that helps them feel comfortable. Please also let me know about any fears, triggers, resource guarding, reactivity, escape behaviors, or history of aggression so I can care for them safely. For dogs, I’d also like to know how they typically behave on walks and around other dogs, people, or wildlife.
