Hi my name is Alyssa! I have grown up around many different breeds, sizes, and ages of dogs my entire life. In addition to volunteering for two years at a dog rescue, I also worked for two years at a dog daycare and boarding facility, where I gained hands-on experience caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments in both group and individual settings. I loved every minute of it and learned so much about dog behavior, safety, and daily care. I also frequently watch neighbors’, friends’, and family members’ dogs whenever they need the help. Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was a young girl, and I am honored to be able to continue to care for them as an adult. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Ecology, so I have hands on experience with a wide variety of animals. Dogs have a special place in my heart and I love being able to help ease their owners concerns whenever they are away or need assistance with walks or drop in visits. Currently, I have two Golden Retrievers, Winston and Daisy, who are my whole world! We moved here from Minnesota, and I’ve had them since they were four months old, so I have plenty of experience caring for multiple puppies at once. I know how hard it can be to leave your babies for any amount of time, so it’s incredibly important to me to treat every pet in my care as if they were my own. I live with my boyfriend, so my dogs will stay home with him if I am needed for an overnight stay and I can give 100% attention and love to your pup(s)! Before Winston and Daisy, I had a yellow Lab mix named Maddie from the time she was a puppy until she was 15 years old. That gave me valuable experience caring for a senior dog and taught me how pets’ needs change throughout their lives. Between my personal experience, rescue work, daycare and boarding experience, and pet sitting, I am comfortable caring for dogs at every life stage. Over the years, I’ve cared for pets belonging to friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers, ranging in age, size, energy level, and temperament. I am comfortable administering medications and happy to accommodate any special routines, needs, or care instructions to make sure your furry family members are comfortable, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. I’ve grown up around dogs my whole life, and honestly, being around them is my passion. I truly enjoy helping both pets and their owners whenever I can. I also spent many years riding and working with horses, so I am very comfortable handling large, energetic animals. No dog is too big for me! 😉
