Reviews

This was an incredibly disappointing and negative experience. We left our dog with Alyssa and indicated that we would be attending a college football tailgate event and game (located just a few minutes away from her apartment). Our instructions specified that our dog does not do well when left alone. After the game, we texted Alyssa to let her know that we were on our way for pick up. We received a text response from Alyssa that she had sent an email to us MANY HOURS before that, with a copy of the email attached. The email message indicated that she had a family emergency and WAS LEAVING TOWN. She sent an additional text message that her roommate might possibly be home until 4:45PM to allow us to pick up our dog. Otherwise, she would need to deliver the dog to us several hours later in the late evening. We received that message at 4:48PM and responded that we were just a minute away from her apartment and could she check to see if her roommate was still home. She did check and texted that the roommate was still at home. When we arrived, however, there was no answer to our knocking. We were frantic, as we did not know how to retrieve our dog and we were scheduled to leave town with our dog early the next morning. We phoned Alyssa for further instructions. She called her roommate and then called us back and indicated that her roommate WAS home and would come to the door. The roommate finally answered the door, and it appeared from her appearance (wearing PJs) that she had been in bed and was in no condition to be leaving the apartment imminently, as we had been told initially. We found our dog locked in a bathroom, trembling, where she had been left alone for many hours...and might possibly have been left alone for several more hours. While we are sympathetic to the fact that Alyssa had a family emergency, the whole situation was handled abominably. Alyssa knew that we were at an event at which we likely would not be checking email messages. The correct action would have been to pick up the phone and CALL US. Being that we were only a few minutes away from her apartment, we could have opted to come and picked up the dog before she left town. Moreover, she knew that we did not receive the message, as several hours passed without us sending a response. After not receiving an immediate response, should have CALLED US to make us aware of the situation. Moreover, when we texted that we were on our way for pick up, the proper response, again, would have been to CALL US, not to attach an hours old email message as an explanation. All of her actions and decisions relating to the care of our dog were incredibly irresponsible. A horrible experience for us, and even more so for our dog.

Alyssa was so great with my fur babies! She communicated with me everyday and my pups seemed happy after their long walk!

A very sweet girl but did not stay with our pet as requested but came and went many times for hours at a time.. I left detailed instructions that were obviously ignored. I now have a frightened 6lb poodle with diarrhea and upset stomach from lack of attention. I am sure she would be fine for check-ins if your dog only needs 10 minutes of time 2 or 3 times a day.

Alyssa was responsive, prompt, and caring. Thanks for the list of activities and the pictures.
