I have a good amount of space for an apartment (2 bedroom plus a big kitchen and living room), and my apartment has a dog park where your pup can meet all some new friends. I also have great walking areas and dog parks around me. I love to walk by the river, or check out

Information Alyssa P. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog is good with people and other dogs. I am experienced with handling reactive dogs, but please let me know if your dog has a history of being aggressive.

A typical day

For dog sitting, I usually start the day off with a good walk around the neghbourhood, take dogs out to my local dog park in my apartment at noon, and then a long evening walk around a nearby duck pond. At home, I enjoy refreshing the tricks they know with treats, and if they are feeling up to it, teaching them something new! On days that I work (some weekdays), my workplace is dog friendly so I can bring them to the studio where they will receive an abundance of pets from clients.

Pet care experience

Hello there! I am an experienced dog walker/sitting and have had dogs in my care for over 10 years. I pride myself in arriving on time for my walks, establishing a sense of connection with each dog in my care, and using positive reinforcement to encourage learning new habits. l have cared for several big dogs in my life, and I am confident in my strength for leash pulling. Also, I am confident in my ability to redirect dogs attention from other dogs or from the best street toys aka squirrels. My dogs (a begalier and a mini Aussie shepherd) currently live with my mom out of the city, I miss them all the time so walking others dogs has been my favourite coping mechanism. I truly enjoy meeting different dog personalities, seeing them open up, and being a part of the excitement of going out and exploring the world outside. Can’t wait to meet your pup! *The last two photos is a snapshot of my main living space in my apartment, and the dog park in my building *I am not able to board dogs at my place over 90 pounds, as my building does not allow it unfortunelty:( *I am free to board at my place during Jan 26-29th only to a dog who is friendly with other dogs and good with small/medium size dogs. My dogs will be staying with me during this time:)

I am obsessed with Alyssa! She took amazing care of the dogs and had the best commentary - she totally “got them”. She was very open and clear with her scheduling and most of all I felt perfectly safe that the dogs were in her care. I’m very grateful for her support! We will definitely be using her again!

Alyssa is absolutely the kindest, most loving and caring person you'd ever want to care for your dog. She's also the kind of friend you'd be lucky to have. After surgery, I needed someone to lift and carry my very old dog out to the dog park. Alyssa was one of the care givers for my dog. She was gentle, kind, patient, and always did her best to see that my dog was safe and well looked after. At one point my dog needed to go to the vet. Immediately, Alyssa offered to take us. It was late and a long drive, but Alyssa stayed with us and then helped me give my dog her medication when we got home. Not many days later, a fire alarm went off in the building. Alyssa was at my door within minutes, offering to help carry my dog down the stairs! Yes, you'd be lucky to have Alyssa as your dog's caregiver.

Alyssa was an absolute joy to watch my dog Charlie. Charlie is quite a reactive dog who doesn’t like most people, but Alyssa (with the help of many treats I’m sure) had Charlie warm up to her very quickly. I really appreciated Alyssa’s patience and kindness when working with Charlie, and I noticed after Charlie came back that her leash pulling was significantly better! We can’t thank you enough Alyssa!

Alyssa has been responsible and committed for the 20 years I have known her. She has owned many pets in her childhood home, including Guinea pigs that she cared for and loved so much. I have never seen someone so upset when marshmallow (the white Guinea pig) died. She also has had a dog and cat, and both of them were very well loved and cared for. Alyssa has also looked after my moms cat and did a great job, overall very reliable, and loving person.
