I believe pets are happiest when they can stick to the routines they know and love. When caring for your pet in your home, I’ll follow your instructions closely, from feeding schedules and walks to playtime, medications, and bedtime routines, so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Safety is always my top priority. I’m attentive to each pet’s body language, energy level, and individual personality, and I always take a calm, patient approach to earning their trust. I’ll treat your home with the same respect I would my own and keep you updated with regular photos and messages so you always know how your pet is doing. My goal is for you to come home to a happy, relaxed pet and a home that’s exactly how you left it.

Before caring for your pet, I’d love to learn as much as possible about them! Please let me know about their daily routine, favorite activities, feeding schedule, medications, allergies, training cues, and any fears or behaviors I should be aware of (such as reactivity, separation anxiety, or resource guarding). I’d also appreciate knowing how they interact with other people, pets, and new environments. The more I know beforehand, the better I can make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away.
A typical day
Every pet has their own personality, so I love tailoring our time together to what makes them happiest! For energetic dogs, I’m always up for long walks, hikes (if approved), games of fetch, tug-of-war, or enrichment activities to keep them mentally stimulated. If your pet prefers a slower pace, I’m just as happy spending time cuddling on the couch, giving belly rubs, brushing them, or simply keeping them company. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of exercise, attention, and affection while keeping their routine consistent. And of course, you’ll receive lots of photo updates so you can see all the fun we’re having together!

Pet care experience
I have several years of hands-on experience caring for animals in veterinary clinics, wildlife hospitals, research settings, and in clients’ homes. I recently graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology, where I gained extensive experience handling animals safely, recognizing signs of illness or stress, administering medications, and providing individualized care. I’ve worked with pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs requiring extra patience and support. I’m also comfortable caring for cats, rabbits, reptiles, birds, and other small animals, so multi-pet households are always welcome! What sets me apart is my ability to combine professional animal care experience with genuine compassion. Whether we’re going for an adventure, playing in the yard, or relaxing on the couch, my goal is to make every pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and I treat every animal as if they were my own.

I highly recommend Alyssa to take care of your fur babies. After meeting up with Alyssa during the meet and greet, I knew that she will be a good for my two girls, Una and Moka. She was professional, attention to detail, knowledgeable and I can tell she loves animals. During her drop-ins, she kept me informed with how Moka and Una were doing. She lets me know if there’s any issue. In away, we kind of work as a team. I did not have worry about my babies when I was away under her care. She also administered Moka’s med pills. She was very anffectionate with the girls. And at the end of every visit, she also sent me photos of the two which made my day. Moka and Una had a liking on her. They will definitely miss her. I highly recommend her.
Great communication. And very friendly with my dog would definitely use her again.
