Availability
I am a DPT student in my clinical rotations, so I am in the clinic 40 hours a week. With my current schedule, dogs would be home alone from roughly 8:30 am through 5 pm Tuesday-Friday. I am still able to provide daily walks with this schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a spacious, unfenced yard with a secure 25-foot tie-out for outdoor activities. Whether your dog prefers playing in the yard or going for leashed walks, I'm adaptable to their needs. My home also includes two bunnies, but don't worry, they have their own enclosed area in a separate, gated room. This means your dog won't have any encounters with them. In our home, we prefer not to have dogs on the bed, but the couch is dog-friendly! The couch offers a great view of our street - which dogs tend to enjoy sitting and watching.
Information Alyssa M. would like to know about your pet
Important things for me to know include whether your dog is crate-trained, where your dog sleeps at night, and what your boundaries are for your dog (e.g., furniture rules). If your dog has any issues with males that is also important for me to know, as my boyfriend and I live together and he will be present during boarding. Additionally, let me know if your dog has special needs ahead of time. I prefer to take fully potty-trained dogs. If your dog needs to be let out very frequently, then I would like to know that ahead of time so I can plan my schedule around that.
A typical day
I take long walks and would love to bring a dog with me. When the weather is nice, I also like to sit in the backyard and study, and would have your dog enjoy the weather with me. Additionally, I like to provide enrichment activities to prevent boredom. I have a few puzzle toys (beginner and intermediate skill level) so your dog can use their problem solving skills to get treats! Food-motivated dogs tend to be very good at these. I also will occasionally provide frozen lick bowls with things such as pumpkin puree, peanut butter, dog-safe broth, and treats frozen into a bowl. If you have any additional enrichment activities that your dog enjoys, tell me about them so I can provide that!

Life time pet owner!
Pet care experience
I've been passionate about caring for pets since I was a kid. From dogs, cats, fish, and small animals, I've got a wide range of experience. I've had dogs my whole life and can confidently handle pets at all life stages, from puppies to senior dogs. I'm also well-versed in providing specialized care for elderly or ill pets, including administering medications. Cats who are a bit shy around newcomers? Not a problem! I know just how to make them feel comfortable. Plus, I'm knowledgeable about the unique needs of small animals like guinea pigs and hamsters.
Reviews

Gracious, flexible, thorough and considerate as always! Always a trooper to help clean messes and reliable to give meds to my senior cat.

Wonderful as always and so great about providing updates and taking care of my senior cat, Luna! Goes above and beyond :)

Alyssa has been great helping my senior cat transition to daily medication! She also was a lifesaver when I had to leave for out of town with little notice. Always wonderful to work with and I trust my cat in her care!

Alyssa did a great job administering pills to my senior cat and helping keep her comfortable. She’s a trusting, reliable and attentive sitter who put this cat mama at ease because I knew my cat was in great and caring hands!
