Short answer: I won't be using Alyssa again because of the poor care my dog received (she had to visit the vet within hours of being picked up. Long answer: I picked up my dog from the sitter and as soon as we got home my dog drank 4 bowls of water in quick succession like she had anything to drink in days. I fed her since the sitter said she hadn't had dinner yet, but Diamond didn't have her usual appetitie and just nibbled at her kibbled. I then noticed her stomach appeared distended and, after talking it over with my sister, we decided to take her to the emergency vet. With the aid of an ultrasound and an x-ray, the vet was able to determine the dog's stomach was completely full, but not necessarily with normal dog food. It was determined there was no risk of torsion, so we were allowed to go home with the knowledge we should wait 24 before giving the dog her usual dinner. The dog had diarrhea all day and had at least one pee accident in the house since coming home which has never happened before. It is important to add that when we dropped off the dog off at the sitter we noticed there was a lot of human food out. Alyssa said she'd had a party over the weekend (we dropped the dog off on a Wednesday). We warned Alyssa that the food needed to be put away or the dog would try to eat these things. The party food had been cleaned up by the time we came to pick the dog up, but that doesn't mean Alyssa responded to our warning with the urgency it required. Also, I gave specific instructions that the dog was to receive 2 cups of kibble a day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. I measured out these portions exactly for the time that we would be away into two plastic containers. When we picked up my dog, one of the containers was still nearly full. At best the dog received half of her normal ration of food. At worst, she was allowed to get into human food that made her sick. Also, when we picked up my dog, Alyssa said that Diamond flipped over her dog bed and broke the zipper. Again, this is highly unusual. Given the mix of odors still clinging to the bed now, we believe the dog may have gotten soiled the bed and Alyssa tried to take the cover off to clean it and never told us. Also, when we dropped off my dog, we heard another dog barking in the house. We EXPLICITLY selected Alyssa because we were under the impression it was going to be a one dog house. My dog does not get along well with other pets and even if she did we wouldn't feel comfortable around other animals because those other animals could be erratic. Alyssa assured us the other dog's owner was just running late. We weren't happy about this, but we were in a bind and couldn't change options that late. When we picked up my dog, we noticed scratches and scabs on her nose that looked like she had been in a fight with another animal. Needless to say I'm disgusted with how my dog was treated. Please avoid this sitter.

Alyssa was great! Sent pix, checked in, and took amazing care of our Sunny! Would definitely recommend!
