Alyssa can care for
Availability
I currently work a hybrid position where I am remote 3 days during the work week (in person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and I have my own vehicle! This means I have ample flexibility to meet all of your pet care needs. It also means so long as you have wifi I am happy to keep your pet company so they aren't alone for long periods of time! Please let me know up front what your expectations are for time between visits and care needs! Despite my flexibility, I am not a good fit for pets who cannot be alone for at least 4 hours. In addition I have open weekend availability.

Unfortunately my cat does not get along with other animals so I will not be able to provide care from my home. However, in home I am happy to provide proof of clean background check and clean driving record. I am also not bothered by in home pet cameras and security protocols. In terms of pet care, my pets truly mean the world to me. I am a huge animal lover and will provide the care for your animals I expect of my own.
Information Alyssa G. would like to know about your pet
No breed preferences. It would be helpful to know temperament and their health. For overnights their usual schedule will help. I am not experienced with dogs who are frequently muzzled or are highly reactive. Please let me know up front how long you are comfortable with your pet being left alone, it helps me ensure transparency and plan appropriately. I only accept constant care (pets who cannot be alone at all or can be alone for less than two hours at at time) on a limited basis and typically adjust my rates based on individual circumstances.
A typical day
I typically work remote 3 days a week during which time outside, play breaks, and snuggles/pets are all part of the plan! Long walks are a favorite of mine and I take many of them alone so I’d appreciate the company! I am happy to visit dog parks if that’s within an owners comfort level.

Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Alyssa! I work in research at Northwestern University and am also a graduate student here in Chicago. Alongside my professional and academic life, I love providing high-quality, reliable pet care. I currently work remotely three days a week (in person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays), which gives me considerable flexibility to accommodate your pet’s needs. I began caring for pets at 13 when I started a thriving neighborhood dog walking service, and since then, I’ve gained years of experience caring for pets. Given my current routine I exclusively offer drop in visits and overnight sits, where I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while keeping their routines consistent. At this time I do not provide “constant care bookings” and I am not a good fit for pets that cannot be left alone for a few hours at a time as needed. I’ve worked with many different breeds, sizes, and ages, and I’m confident handling pets with special needs. My own family dog and cat both required extra care, so I’m comfortable with medication administration and following vet protocols. In college, I also worked in an animal behavior lab, giving me a strong background in positive reinforcement training. At home, I have a cat of my own (she rules the house, which is why I don’t host pets here), but I love the chance to spend time with dogs and other animals through sitting. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, or extended overnight care, I’m committed to giving your pets the same attention and affection I’d want for my own.

Reviews

Alyssa is the best! She keeps my puppy safe and entertained and randomly cleans up bleach when maintenance spills it cleaning out the laundry duct! She goes above and beyond!

Alyssa takes such wonderful care of my puppy! She makes sure he’s fed, loved, and comfortable. I have 💯 trust in her—I highly recommend her!

Was great with our dog for 4 nights in our home!
We couldn’t have asked for a better dog walker and caretaker than Alyssa. As our two happy, friendly Tennessee dogs made the big transition to city life, Alyssa was there every step of the way—steady, compassionate, and endlessly patient. She didn’t just walk them; she cared for them. When challenges came up, she handled them with thoughtfulness and creativity, always finding a calm, practical solution. Alyssa was respectful of our home, incredibly conscientious, and genuinely kind. It’s clear she truly loves dogs, and our pups adored her in return. She’s unflappable, reliable, and ready for anything—a rare and wonderful quality in today's world! We’re so grateful for her work and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care.
