Dogs, cats, I love them all!
I grew up with cats (and rabbits, birds, frogs, geckos...) but have always wanted a dog! I have dog-sitted and previously lived with a timid field spaniel, whose trust I eventually won over. I love petting dogs on the sidewalk, but it would be much more fun to care for one! Currently I am a traveling biologist, which means that I am usually only in Minnesota for two months at a time, twice per year (spring and fall). Between working with wild birds, pets, and children, I know the patience it takes to get through tough situations, which invariably arise in pet care. I also pride myself on safety, being cautious and slow with new dogs, and only letting cats outside in an enclosure or on a leash. Let’s work together and get your dog the care it deserves!

Safety is always my top priority! And having lived with dogs and cats who are eager to bolt out the door, I am very conscious about entering and exiting homes. I also ensure that I have completed the checklist before departing so that your dog has everything it needs when I leave.

Alyssa took such good care of our cat while we were away. She paid close attention to the little details and kept our kitty comfortable! Alyssa also sent lots of updates and photos of our little guy - it was so nice to see the TLC in action!

Alyssa has great energy and it is clear she loves dogs. Our dachshund puppy of 4 months was in great hands. Alyssa sent me progress reports with pictures of their walks and play time. Alyssa was wonderful with Stella- very attentive and easy to communicate with. She obviously loves animals and Stella is always happy to see her. It has been a pleasure to meet Alyssa.
I have no hesitation in recommending Alyssa as a dog care giver. We have a very shy cautious dog that does not respond to many people but Alyssa was patient and slowly won him over. I am aware that she has had positive experiences dog sitting for needy pets. She is highly responsible and has a wonderful personality. I am sure that the clients will love her as much as the pets!

Schedule
I work part-time, and my shifts aren’t usually more than 5 hours at a time. Therefore, it’s easy for me to squeeze in a walk or home visit!
