I will ask the pet parent for specific details including basics like: feeding details, the pets triggers and behaviors that show they are uncomfortable, approved treats and favorite toys, how they like to play, sleeping details, emergency contacts and vet information, and any other details the pet parent finds relevant. All of these are used to provide the best care for the pet.

Information Alyssa C. would like to know about your pet
I like to know if the pet has any triggers for anxious behaviors to be able to make them as comfortable as possible. I also like to know high-value treat items and training treat items they like, food allergies, and favorite toys. Additionally, cats sometimes have odd behaviors around drinking and eating—I like to know the quirks so I can make the transition of care as seamless as possible for them and provide you with peace of mind while you’re away!
A typical day
For dogs, my goal is to provide them with all the love and attention you would normally provide. This can include leashing up and talking a walk in the neighborhood, heading out in the backyard to run some laps and play, or a simple potty break outside and some pets and cuddles inside, if that’s what they prefer (lookin at you, old babies and Great Danes 😉). Additionally, I like to know what their favorite toys are, things that comfort them, and any situations where they may be scared or triggered and how you normally manage those (ie storms, dog or leash reactive, etc). I also like to know high-value snd training treats or puzzles available to help keep them mentally and physically stimulated, happy, and healthy while you’re away. For cats, my main goal is making sure they are as stress-free as possible, allowing them mental and physical stimulation (should they allow it/require it, you know, some cats…😂) with their pet-parent approved favorite toys, puzzles, petting (again, if they allow it) and a treat or two! Additionally, I ensure boxes are scooped daily or at each drop-in (whichever is more frequent). And I will always remove the waste from the home so it doesn’t stink while you’re away. Lastly, ensuring the babies are fed and watered and that you receive the best and most IG-worthy photos while you’re away so you know that your baby is happy and healthy while awaiting your return 😊

Pet care experience
I have had many professional and personal pet care experiences. I’ve had personal pets like dogs since I was 8. In college I worked as a vet tech and seasonally as a pet care associate at petsmart. I am comfortable with dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. I am also comfortable with cats, small animals (I’ve had rats and Guinea pigs personally) and reptiles. I currently have 3 cats, a leopard gecko, and a corn snake. I have also fostered dogs and worked on basic obedience with them to get them ready for furever homes. Let me know your needs and I’m sure I’ll be loving your babies like my own in no time!

Reviews

She was great with my dogs. It was my first time using a sitter and she put my anxiety at ease. She took so many pictures!

Alyssa was so prompt and communicative. I’ll definitely use her again when I’’m in the area.
She was a great communicator and made me feel that our scaredy cat was in good hands. Cat was happier than normal when we got home.

Alyssa has done drop ins for me multiple times and has been great. She even was available on a last minute request.
