Patient with Smart, Stubborn Dogs
I’m someone who genuinely enjoys animals—but I also understand that not all pets are “easy,” and that’s where I do my best work. I’m especially comfortable with puppies, high-energy dogs, and dogs that need a little extra structure or patience. I tend to match each dog’s energy and focus on creating a calm, consistent experience—whether that’s a structured walk, reinforcing good leash habits, or just helping them settle. A lot of this comes from my own dog, Mango. He’s a high-energy Labradoodle with a bit of a redhead personality—smart, a little stubborn, and definitely “hotheaded” at times—but he wants to be good (especially when treats are involved). When I first got him, he was very reactive, and over the past few years I’ve worked through that with him using patience, structure, and positive reinforcement. Now he can calmly walk past other dogs and even hang out in busy environments like breweries, which was not always the case. Because of that experience, I’m very tuned into body language, triggers, and how to keep dogs feeling safe and successful. I’m not easily overwhelmed, and I’m comfortable with dogs that need a little more attention, consistency, or guidance. I’ve also grown up around cats my entire life—at one point we had 6 indoor cats, and then moved in with my grandparents who had another 6 indoor/outdoor cats… so yes, I’ve handled a 12-cat household 😄 I’m very familiar with all the different personalities cats bring—independent, social, shy, opinionated—and I genuinely enjoy figuring out what each cat needs to feel comfortable. I’m patient and respectful of their space, but also know when they want attention (or snacks). I currently have one cat, Luna, who absolutely runs the household and keeps me on a strict schedule. I’m comfortable administering medications for both dogs and cats, including pills and liquids, and I’m used to getting creative when pets are a little too clever for their own good. I also have a background in equine care and am comfortable around horses of all temperaments. I’m familiar with daily routines, handling, and maintaining a calm, safety-first approach in barn environments. Overall, I bring a reliable, thoughtful approach to every animal I care for. You can expect clear communication, lots of updates, and someone who will treat your pet like an individual—not just a quick stop on a schedule.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in an apartment, so I’m very familiar with providing consistent walks as a dog’s primary form of exercise. Because of this, I don’t offer boarding in my home, but I’m very comfortable caring for pets in their own environment. When I’m in a client’s home, I focus on keeping things as consistent as possible with your pet’s normal routine. I follow feeding schedules, walk routines, and any specific instructions closely—the more detail you can provide, the better. I also pay attention to the small things that make a difference, like your pet’s quirks, preferences, and habits. My goal is to keep them comfortable, safe, and stress-free while you’re away, and to make the experience feel as normal as possible for them.

Alyssa was excellent! She spent plenty of quality time with our cat and gave her lots of playtime while we were away!

Alyssa took great care of my dog and cat! She was very responsive and sent lots of photos throughout her stay. My fur babies seemed very settled when we returned home. She also took great care of our house and left it nice and tidy :)

Alyssa was very good at sending me photos and videos of our dogs when she took care of them at our home. Would definitely recommend her!! Thank you!

Alyssa is fantastic with dogs and puppies. She's helped to care for my baby puppies, young dogs and senior dog, and cats too! She's attentive and loving. She's great at setting boundaries for the dogs so they know what is expected. You couldn't ask for a better pet sitter or dog walker!

Schedule
I work from home full-time (8am–4pm), which allows for flexibility in my schedule. I’m available for walks and visits before and after work, as well as on weekends. I may be available for short daytime visits or walks for clients nearby, depending on location and schedule. If your pet needs more extended care during the day, I’m happy to work remotely from your home. I do balance a regular work schedule, but I’m very open to coordinating something that works well for both you and your pet.
