Pet care experience

Loving and gentle animal caregiver

I’ve loved animals since I was a child, I always preferred playing with my dogs and cats over doing other things. I started training one of my dogs at 14 and have had a passion for pet care since. I volunteered at an animal shelter, medical department, and learned so many thing about animal care and medicine from it(and how to respond to medical situations and needs). After that I worked taking care of family and friends animals. I started at a pet store and learning more about proper, humane, animal care. I’m still continuing to learn new things about animal health, safety, and temperament. After working at a pet store I decided to work at a training, daycare and boarding facility, which has taught me so much more than I thought I could know. I currently take care of all of the animals during the day, and sometimes travel to clients houses to pet sit for extended periods of time. I pet sit/drop in for clients outside of my work as well, I’ve been doing it for 3 years now, I’m able to manage time between the two and allow plenty of time for your pup and me to interact. I’m certified in pet first aid and CPR meaning I know what to do if a dog has an accident or eats something they’re not supposed to, had a seizure/medical episode, heat exhaustion, etc.(I can show you the certification when requested)

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I always make sure that your fur baby is in a safe environment. Meaning no food left out, utensils put away, no medicine left anywhere in the open, toys and enrichment monitored, and looking for signs of any medical issues or situations (heat exhaustion, medical episodes) and responding appropriately, and constant supervision. I’m certified in animal first aid and CPR, meaning I know what to do and how to react in medical emergency situations. I am trained(and still in training) for dog behavior, I know how to respond to emergency situations involving your animal or others, I work with dogs on a daily basis and have become extremely familiar with signs and body language, I will do my best to prevent any issues, stress, anxiety, aggression, fear, or over stimulation, and work to resolve it safely and positively for your animal(I.e. redirecting over stimulation to calmer activities, help build some confidence is scary situations, and redirecting aggressive/fearful behaviors in positive fun ways). I will be contacting/updating you on your pets activities, and well being depending on your preference and needs(with pictures and/or videos). **With the new respiratory illness going around, I have taken even more precautions, I change clothes right before I get to the house, if I am sitting, I take a shower before interacting with the dogs, all toys and bowls are washed twice per day to avoid cross contamination, if walking dog, spots with visible signs of dog usage will be avoided and I will try to go on paths not usually having other dogs on them, as well as avoiding other dogs on walks. If requested an outing or a park, I will take them to a private park/excursion site and will once again, sanitize everything and take the same precautions I would at your house too. If you have anymore special request of what you would like me to avoid/do, I will be more than happy to work with you**
